I removed the Wii motions and I'm still stuck at the screen and I never see the prompt of press 1 to continue.
I guess this just wasn't meant to be for me. I'm trying whatever I can to get my Wii up and running with the homebrew channel so they can play some old games, but I guess not. :(
So I copied over the boot.elf file and I'm back to my original problem where I'm stuck at the warning screen and after waiting for like 5 minutes it never gives me any prompt to proceed or continue :(
Okay so I downloaded and ran ModMii, selected "HackMii Solutions + Guide". It did it's job, created a folder on my hard drive and I copied of all of the contents inside the "Copy to SD Card" to the SD card.

I'm in the same situation as you. I can't get past the "scam" screen. I formated my SDHC card to only 2GB and I'm still stuck at the same screen. I tried doing an Wii update like you tried, but I'm stuck at testing connection :(
Okay so I just bought a SD card and I'm going to follow the many tutorials I've found on youtube to install the homebrew channel via LetterBomb. From all of the tutorials I've watched they just install the Homebrew Channel. I see an option to install BootMii but the tutorials just skip over...
Wow I'm so confused....
On one hand I want to just want to try whatever is recommended, but then I don't want a crying 2 and 4 year old asking why they can't play Mario Kart and Mario Party 8 which are the only 2 games which currently work.
