    You were right ! It was the ROM dump I was using - I got a clean one for Zelda and it works ! Thanks for the help - hopefully this will help someone else also !

    Yep-I believe so - It's an 8GB Card (Sandisk Class 10) and I formatted it as FAT32 before I did anything. Some other games with save functionality I have tried are working fine, and the in-game save functionality works also.
