    This is a doddle of a mod. Using ceramic coated wire (the best thin but tough wire I have ever used) I was free to route pretty much any way I wanted without any adjustments to the shell.

    It's possible that if it hasn't fried something you could clean it and solder to the trace. This requires more skill than the person you had do this for you posesses. If you can get a better (steadier) pic to show us I'm sure we could give you a better idea if it's fixable.
