    Got gateway mode working once with this but have consistently failed to boot it since then, just end up with a white and grey striped screen.

    I have to keep telling myself this. Also, my theory is that gateway saved part 2 of their update for the release of Pokémon, they probably want to test that before unleashing the update. Either way, they seem to be doing a lot of good work so I wouldn't discount a fix for anything at all given...
