    Not exactly what you're asking for, but I think is worth noting, the mobile ports of Sonic 1, 2, and CD were recently decompiled and are now playable on PC. Sonic Mania runs on the same engine. I know there's homebrew ports of that for Vita, so maybe we'll see a decompilation project for Mania...
