I finally dug out my Switch again and I'm trying to update everything. I have a trinket m0, had all straps (Working perfectly, at least until I unboxed the switch again), with switchboot v1.5.0.
So it correctly boots into switchboot. I choose the samd21 update, but when I press the reset button...
@mattytrog could you include a note for the samd update that a SD card is necessary? Seems stupidly obvious in hindsight, but I was struggling to do it because I forgot I temporarily removed my SD card!
The chip itself won't cause any damage to your switch if installed properly. Any damage to the switch will be due to installation problems as described above.

although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
