    Hacking USB Loader GX

For whatever reason, USB Loader GX is no longer booting games for me. Updated everything I could think of- fresh cIOS installations in all recommended slots (d2x-v11-beta1 -> d2x-v11-beta3), Priiloader update (0.9.1 -> 0.10.0), USB Loader GX update (my disc auto-loading branch of r1281 to...

ROM Hack Super Mario Eclipse (Sunshine mod) release trailer

Seems like the 60FPS is a complete mess on a Wii with Nintendont, game speed is tied to framerate with double buffer Vsync forced, so if it can't hit 60 it goes to a slo-mo 30. The vanilla game's 60FPS patch (from the Dolphin wiki) runs much better, hits 60 most of the time from what I've...

    Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

Ah with Yuzu you also have to hit Ctrl+U to actually unlock the game's framerate. I'm at around 110-115 in the middle of Rogueport, I can see how people would dip below 60 with less beefy hardware.

    Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

Yeah, wouldn't want to play it like that of course, just curious how many FPS I could get with it fully unlocked. A lot of people saying they get 50ish FPS in Rogueport when I had 60 at 2x docked res and supposedly low GPU usage.

    Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

I have a 7800X3D and an RTX 3080, but my usages in RTS are super low so I have a ton of headroom. I feel like you should be fine with your specs. Have you given Suyu or another Yuzu fork a try out of curiosity? If there's a way to unlock the framerate fully I could check my FPS in Rogueport...

    Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

Don't know that there have been any other alternative patches or updates to this one yet (it's still v1.0.0 in the Github zip). The Chapter 2 issue with Puni's getting lost or behind is apparently present on real hardware at 30FPS as well, and isn't actually a 60FPS patch bug.

    Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

I haven't played enough to say for sure that the timing windows feel off, I just saw other people reporting it. I'm using Suyu 0.0.3 and the low FPS on the turning animations (it's whenever a character's sprite "flips" from left to right or vise versa) is very obvious- maybe it's only an issue...

    Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

Sounds like currently it does that, yeah. We're super early on so hopefully some more refinements can be made in the future. Hard to balance things too since I've always heard superguards in the original were a 3 frame window, so for the remake they had to have gone with 2 or I think more...

    Paper Mario TTYD 60fps patch?

Mostly commenting to follow. Getting rock solid 60 at 2x scale on Suyu, other than typical loading/shader hitching that's hard to avoid on modern emulators. Is everyone else getting 30 FPS on turning animations? Looks a bit jarring.

Homebrew Can anyone explain why USB Loader GX resets the disc drive twice?

Thanks, I believe I did post there as well- wherever it was I did catch the main dev's attention and they said they'd take a look at the pull request when they got the chance.

    Hacking USB Loader GX

Yup! It definitely needs Wii U verification since I can't test that, particularly to see if removing the extra drive reset causes problems there.

    Wii output is fixed. Hooray!

Didn't know vWii had yet another issue, Nintendo truly botched everything about its video output huh...

    Wii output is fixed. Hooray!

If it's a 480i standard def CRT you probably want the deflicker on, though you can pop in Pikmin 2, Smash Bros Melee, or Brawl if you want to see what it would look like with the deflicker off.

    Wii output is fixed. Hooray!

Ah, maybe I just happened upon a game that was close to a worst-case example. I'm also zooming quite heavily on my captures so yeah it really comes down to how easy it is for one to a adjust it externally on their setup. Worth looking into for digital setups with scalers involved, but not for...

Homebrew Can anyone explain why USB Loader GX resets the disc drive twice?

I'm working on a modification to add auto disc booting to USB Loader GX, but I'm digging through the code trying to figure out if there's a way to stop the disc drive from resetting twice when loading from a disc. I thought it was from switching IOS', but even with a matching cIOS for the app...
