Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

It sorta looks like a small Switch, and it has "RCM loader" written on it. Still trying to figure out where that thing fits into the equation. All I know about it is that it helps me power on the switch when it's off, otherwise it acts as if it's bricked (I assume I have that AutoRCM setting set...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

That's good to know. I forgot to add, the Switch I got has that small thingie that plugs into the charger port and "injects" the necessary files to boot into CFW (at least I think so, sorry if I'm saying stupid things). I'm not sure where that thingamajig enters the story, except for the fact...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Thanks, that's good to know. I actually found that guide, but it worried me that SXOS and migrating is never mentioned, as well as some SX_Gear_v1.1.zip file that I thought was necessary for the migration to be performed. :(

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hi everyone, I've recently got gifted a modded Switch, ver.8.1.0, SXOS 2.8. As far as I can tell it's an "unpatched Erista" switch. As far as I can tell this OS is deprecated, so I'd like to follow this guide https://rentry.org/mys8q to migrate to Atmosphere and then upgrade the Switch version...

Hacking Lost chip on an old hardmodded Wii

Yes, it's a PAL Wii, forgot to add that, and as I recall it was v4.3. Didn't know it was a Korean one, that's weird (although, as I said, my brother bought it second-hand, or third-hand, who knows). As for the lack of chip being the cause of drive problems, that's 100%, because this same thing...

Hacking Lost chip on an old hardmodded Wii

 So no chance of just reconnecting something so it magically starts working? Even if it doesn't read CDs anymore?

Hacking Lost chip on an old hardmodded Wii

Ah, so take out drive, look at bottom. Sure, can do, I'll try it tomorrow. Sorry, my eyesight's bad, I meant @alexander1970, but I mistakenly used the nick from the quote. I'll make a syscheck and report in once I finish with butchering this thing... if it even turns on afterwards. :P...

Hacking Lost chip on an old hardmodded Wii

Hi everyone. First, thanks for all the answers... I've waited to finally have a change to physically get a hold of my brother's Wii and unfortunately it took awhile. But now I have it, and I disassembled it to see where the cable with the lost chip comes from.and whether there's a possibility...

Hacking Lost chip on an old hardmodded Wii

Thank You for the answers. Unfortunately, as I said, it is not my unit, and I have only seen the chip once, months ago. I asked my brother if he at least had a picture of it, but he doesn't, all he knows the chip was small, squarish, with each side being around 1cm, and the red LED was...

Hacking Lost chip on an old hardmodded Wii

Hi everyone. First, obligatory excuse for being a newbie. I did try to find the answer for my issue, but since it's a bit unique (or at least I think so), I wasn't able to find the answer. So here's the story - my brother bought a second-hand Wii a couple of months ago, for his kid. It's a...
