I think the difficulty with this announcement is that it doesn't define what they consider to be Xbox games at this point really. An absurd marketing blitz last year pushed that everything is an Xbox due to Cloud Gaming. Until this gets defined properly, it's just fluff in my eyes.
Yeah, I'll second OpenMTP. I've used it with both the Switch and the Ayn Thor. I wouldn't say its 100% perfect or anything but it fit my needs when I couldn't be bothered to do anything else.
