Hacking BigBlueBox is really coming through with the classic releases.

They are the best release group imo, but I'm surprised they still haven't done Shovel Knight yet, it's one of the more talked about eshop games recently.

Hacking At what point do we just consider Gateway officially abandoned?

So afaik no one has received a legitimate e-mail response from them since like February - is this the longest they've been completely silent, not responding to any e-mails, inquiries, etc? Without official word from them (and they'll probably never officially admit to abandoning it since that...

Hacking EVO3ds: Possible new flashcart for 3DS games?

I think EVO might have changed their site a bit since it's nothing like GW's site as far as I can tell. Maybe GW realized that people were catching on? Wish I could have seen it before the change. Either way I hope we (ever) get official proof on this so we can know who NOT to give our money...

Hacking When was the most recent email response from Team Gateway?

The thing is, the 3DS flashcart "scene" is going to be stagnant/over pretty soon unless someone finds (and actually proves/uses) another exploit that can run on current official firmware. It's not going to be like the DS Lite where flashcarts could run wild on a system that didn't have firmware...

Gaming So......Yoshi's New Island turned out to be really good.

Aiming like on SNES, and you have three choices. "Hasty" lets you hold the button and release to throw eggs when you're lined up. "Patient" lets you press the button and then press it again to release (you can still press another button to stop the aiming slider like on SNES). "Gyro" lets you...

Gaming So......Yoshi's New Island turned out to be really good.

That actually makes a lot of sense. The quality is there, but because they need to keep a steady release schedule to hold peoples' interest for 3DS, they have to shorten development times without reducing quality (leading to shorter games). Hopefully they're not being spread too thin so one of...

Yikes, only 5 worlds....what's with Nintendo's recent games being criminally short...

Gaming So......Yoshi's New Island turned out to be really good.

Really? How many worlds are there? I'm in world 1 and it still has 8 levels per world, same as YI. Are there no longer 8 worlds? The early levels do feel kind of short if that's what you mean, but I was thinking it was only that way to ease new players into the game and that later levels would...

Gaming So......Yoshi's New Island turned out to be really good.

The 3D is very good and really fits the art and animation style, but I still don't use it on account of hating the need to remain so still. I wish Nintendo released a shutter/polarized glasses version of the 3DS so I could relax while using 3D mode. To each their own, nothing wrong with that...

Gaming So......Yoshi's New Island turned out to be really good.

This is no YIDS. They actually gave a shit about the whole experience this time. The music is great and not phoned in/boring like the DS game, the controls are really tight (and unlike DKCR3D, you can use the D-pad and circle pad and retain all the same button controls), and overall the game...

Hacking When was the most recent email response from Team Gateway?

I check gateway's website once per day and nothing disappoints me anymore, I'll just be happy once it's finally out. It would be nice to not have to choose one game to bring to work (don't have a smartphone to load games with) but I'm not about to start throwing a fit since I'm a dirty...

Hacking Are Gateway+its clones' days numbered in terms of rom support?

So it's true, then? I wonder what the chances are of getting the bootrom dumped since I doubt we'll be seeing a totally new firmware exploit anytime soon (if ever) unless that other guy wasn't blowing wind about gaining access to the kernel via a new softmod method.

Hacking Are Gateway+its clones' days numbered in terms of rom support?

I don't remember where I read it from but it was here at GBAtemp, a few days ago. They made it sound like SDK7 was a possible impending doom for the Gateway hack method (regardless of its firmware) that would make support for future roms hit a brick wall and I was just touching here to see if...

Hacking Are Gateway+its clones' days numbered in terms of rom support?

Are you sure on this or just assuming because they've gotten games that didn't work before to work? From the place I read it, apparently the Gateway hardware itself and its method of hacking is incompatible with SDK7, so I'm wondering if they would have to change the hardware itself and sell new...
