    Hacking System file is missing

I switched them over, the MP3 player seems fine with the shitty HK SD, albeit REALLY damn slow to copy music over (6GB took around an hour...) On the plus side the 8GB Samsung card works fine with the Acekard so this thread can be considered "SOLVED". (Edit: I can't seem to change the thread...

    Hacking System file is missing

Further update: having done a full format as specified in my last post, and adding the 1.8.8 files to the root, I'm back to the start; "System file is missing". Any ideas? Edit: Just remembered I have another 8GB card in my MP3 player. Let's see if switching them over reaches a satisfactory...

    Hacking System file is missing

A quick update, in the hope of getting further suggestions: I tested the 16GB (Lexar) SDHC card I have, and that works fine -- unfortunately I need that in my phone! I tried using the HP formatting tool and did a full format of the 8GB card but at startup I just got a "Loading" screen forever...

    Hacking System file is missing

It's an unbranded card. Tried the 1.8.7 release and that didn't work, either. I have a 16GB card I could try but that will have to wait until tomorrow as I have a train to catch! Pretty annoying if it is the SD card at fault, especially since I ordered it with the Acekard, from Hong Kong...

    Hacking System file is missing

Yep I tried those steps, and I'm 100% sure the files are in the correct place (the root of the SD card). I just tried sticking them on my 2GB card (from my R4) and the Acekard now boots up correctly, so I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with the 8GB card. Or perhaps I need to update the...

Yeah, I tried that four or five times now. Same result.

    Hacking System file is missing

I received my Acekard 2i and peeled off the sticker, then went over and checked it online; all legit. I downloaded AKAIO 1.8.8 and put the akmenu4.nds and __aio on the (Panasonic SD formatted) SD card (8GB, class 4). I just get "System file is missing". Could anything have gone wrong?

    Hacking Wii Region Changing (Homebrew)

In answer to my own question: make sure you switch off the Region Override in the WiiKey cfg (JAP), then do all the homebrew CIOS updating stuff, then stick in the US/PAL WiiKey upgrade, then finally do the US/PAL WiiKey cfg. I followed...

    Hacking Wii Region Changing (Homebrew)

Hi, I tried doing the region change on my JAP Wii and couldn't install the PAL WiiKey update, but I pressed on with the change anyway, and now I can't seem to play any games or install any WiiKey updates. Can anyone offer any advice on how I might fix this? I switched back to JAP but that didn't...

    Hardware Another WiiKey/Smash Bros Question

I'm not whining about updates or anything, just wondering what's going on with my Wii; I have a WiiKey chipped JAP Wii and downloaded the full Smash Bros X DVD9 image, I burnt it onto a "Verbatim 4x DVD-R DL" disc with the command "growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=cvn-dsbx.iso" -- this took a...

    Hacking Wii Firmware Updates

Oh, I hadn't considered that, thanks a lot for clarifying!

    Hacking Wii Firmware Updates

Hi there, right now the latest Wii firmware is available on WiiFit, but I was wondering if it was possible to download a standalone copy of the firmware? I assume that someone has been able to identify those bytes responsible for updating it on commercial discs (as BrickBlocker removes them, as...
