DSpico - An open-source flashcart for the DS(i)

I got the card from chiscart. Looks very nice, comes pre-flashed, but it doesn't properly fit my DS card cases, and the microSD card sticks out a little which doesn't mix well with the spring load. Don't plan to properly use it until it's feature complete though. Regarding the software, there's...

DSpico - An open-source flashcart for the DS(i)

This listing says the casing is injection molded! Anyone here order one to give a report back?

ROM Hack Translation [Release] Jet Impulse - English Translation

Quick untranslated thing I noticed: The tab on the name entry screen which contains the Latin characters, numbers and extra symbols is untranslated. Should say something like "ABC#" or just "ABC". Could also start on that tab as default too.

ROM Hack Translation [Release] Jet Impulse - English Translation

Oops, didn't catch they were the same in Japanese. I guess "About World" could be intentional then, "Option" definitely not though lol. Is that rank display the only untranslated thing?

ROM Hack Translation [Release] Jet Impulse - English Translation

Huge congratulations on getting this translation out! Regarding the hardcoded "sections that can't be translated", what do they pertain to in the game? Like how important are they? Also, on the screenshots above. "About World" and "Air Plane" seem like weird translations. Is Encyclopedia not an...

DSpico - An open-source flashcart for the DS(i)

Nice to see that there's potential for this. How does a DSi rom on a 3DS without your hb menu run? Not something I'd try now due to the currently incomplete nature of DSpico, but I'll keep it in mind. -------- Here's my current understanding of DSpico, anything here I've gotten wrong? +Open...

DSpico - An open-source flashcart for the DS(i)

Thanks, the DMA thing is what I expected but didn't know how to word it. As for the non DSpico hardware differences, what about DSi mode support and whatnot, surely that doesn't work on other cards?

DSpico - An open-source flashcart for the DS(i)

Are the compatibility issues with non DMA carts present when using those carts with their original software? I run a r4ids.cn which is listed as not having DMA support and I've had no issues with it on its own. Also, what are the differences between running the DSpico software on the DSpico...

DSpico - An open-source flashcart for the DS(i)

Can't believe I was late to this news! This is something I've been wanting forever, but it does look like I'll have to wait more for the compatibility issues to be fixed up (is there a list of known issues?) and someone to sell these. nds-bootstrap is simply too crappy so a DSi mode solution...

Hardware Project Open source flashcart project info

But do Pokemon Black & White have an exploit that can run on load from a save? But yeah having a hacked system only entrypoint with a way to change that would negate the need to have an unhacked method work everywhere. Bad sellers have nothing to do with the cart itself though so I wouldn't...

Hardware Project Open source flashcart project info

If it does indeed support microSD cards which can store more than 32GB then yeah I don't see the point of having that eMMC with that cost and size. I have never heard of that DSI flashcart before! Crazy that it was done before and no-one else seemed to be interested, hopefully you can change...

    New NDS Translation Request Thread

Translation request threads are futile due to the sheer amount of work needed to make a fan translation of a game. Translators will put that effort towards the games they want the most usually. Though I would like to list some games that have versions in English elsewhere for potential script...

Hardware Project Open source flashcart project info

The onboard storage seems like a crazy and expensive feature! Can a card even handle all that at once? I get it though if it's not able to support SD cards larger than 32GB, I have my collection split across two 32GB cards and I may need a 3rd at some point in the future! My mind does wander to...

"Stop Killing Games" initiative reaches its 1 million signature goal, with industry giants pushing back against it

It is worth noting that the initiative doesn't expect developers to share their source code, just the server software itself. Other routes include implementing direct peer to peer multiplayer not relying on a closed service, or offline modes.
