So what? Everything that Kosmos includes still works. The only thing that gets broken is probably CFW SYSNAND since payload= method doesn't accept emummc_disable arg

I presently have Kosmos with CFW on SysNAND.

If I ever want to update to 10.0 and have sig patches, what should I do?

So you use CFW on both emuMMC and sysNAND?
That's strange.

no, I don’t have emuMMC at all.

I’ve been using CFW on sysnand since before emuMMC was even an option, and I’ve just stuck with it.

I have an unhacked Switch for going online, and didn’t think it was worth wasting the SD space on an emuMMC. Maybe that is strange, I dunno.

In any case is it possible to update my hacked Switch to 10.0 and have sig patches? Is it possible to use Kosmos, or do I have no choice but to go to vanilla Atmosphere?

No rush to update. Waiting for Nintendo to release firmware 10.0.x and a Kosmos update that support that until I update.

Really like Kosmos right now, don't want to go back to vanilla Atmosphere.

What is the difference between Hekate and fusee?

Gesendet von meinem Redmi Note 8 Pro mit Tapatalk
Hekate is a multi-faceted tool that is not limited to dumping/restoring the NAND, AutoRCM management, the battery de-sync fix, chainloading, handling nogc, etc. Fusee is just meant to boot Atmosphere and even then, its not as fast as Hekate.

What do you mean with fast? Fast to boot up?

Hekate loads Atmosphere faster than Fusee. Granted, its marginal by a few seconds but is one of the reasons why Hekate is superior to Fusee.

I normally use hekate because I multiboot sx too. But when someone from family borrows my switch they get fuse on rcmloader or sx os on their dongle, less options to mess around than with hekate.

    • Joycon Support, use your joycons to control Hekate
    • Home Screen Customization, choose what you see when launching hekate
    • Fix Archive Bits v3, faster, better, stronger!
    • Color Theme support for NYX

    • Allow eMMC restoring for smaller or bigger backups
    • Add simple emuMMC backup support

  • emuMMC was seriously updated
    • File based now uses FastFS with speeds almost as fast as RAW

Nice work!
Having a bit of trouble updating to v16.0. Reverted back to v15.6 and everything just works. Think I'll wait for a bigger release (next Atomosphere for a higher firmware integrated into Kosmos) since for now everything works just fine on v15.6.

I'm sure this was just random bad luck on my side, but here's what my sd card looked like after updating to latest kosmos, (while on 9.1 switch firmware) booting into the new hekate to take a look at the usb options (not actually clicking any of them, just exiting out of the menu again) and then trying to start cfw.

I got an atmosphere error "a fatal error occured when running atmosphere and titleID 010041544d530000"

and the option to reboot by powerbutton.
after that, more errors, when putting sd card into pc, no file system found.

and finally, after chkdisk /f, thats what my sd card looked like.

since hekate/nyx loaded just as it should right after updating all the files on sd card, whatever happened, likely happened while it was loaded or during cfw startup. (also, yes, it was fat32 formatted)

Gonna take forever to get all my stuff back together:(

___

so it seems to be a reoccuring issue with that sd card now.
i can reformat it, put the atmo files back on it, boot all the way to nyx, but eventually, the same error occurs and the filesystem gets shot again. its very weird... gonna try once more after a full reformat, but that's going to take a good while

the same files on a different sd card work...

_____

after lots of formatting and trying things out, I'm now almost sure it's not actually an issue with my sd card and this new hekate might just have an issue with large sized sd cards.
Opened an issue on their github. maybe if anyone else has a spare 400gb card to test if you make it into atmosphere using latest kosmos with hekate/nyx and so on?

I figured it out...I kept putting in the 'ams_mitm.kip' file into the Kosmos v16 and it would not boot. With Kosmos v15.6 the 'ams_mitm.kip' was needed for Tinfoil but the same kip file does does not work with Kosmos v16.

Haven't fully tested out Kosmos v16 yet but for now it's booting and loads Tinfoil.

PS
. Firmware 10.0.2 works with Kosmos v15.6 for those who doe not want to update Kosmos and only want to update to the latest Switch firmware.

A small question: Is there any chance that in the next update, Kosmos can add proper support for Tinfoil by modifying their fork of Atmosphère accordingly?
