I know there's already a translation for the Windows XP release of Galaxy angel; but there's also one on the Xbox, I was wanting to possibly translate it.
Other then ripping the game, what would be the first step in translating the game?
EDIT: Funny thing actually; looking at the file structure between the original PC game and the Xbox port; they're exactly the same (Minus the videos being scaled down from 800x600 to 640x480). So uh, yeah; assuming it was really as easy as plopping the translation files into the rip. I guess translation complete minus the videos.
I don't have a hacked Xbox so I cannot test it, but if someone is willing to test it; contact me I guess
EDIT 2: the game boots up with an error message saying that the disc is damaged or dirty; meaning some of the code from the original PC translation is conflicting with the original Xbox code; Unencrypting the data shows that between the two games there are enough similarities: I believe the main conflicts with the game is that the Xbox version uses directX to render while the PC version uses direct draw to render; so I need to isolate the data that contain's the actual data for the dialogue boxes; the only problem is that I do not know if that data is kept in the .iidx files, the .idx files, the .tan iles, the .x files, or any of the other file extensions used (There are not that many, like maybe 12 different types other then the videos and the .png files that obviously aren't the dialogue.)
If anyone knows anything, please be sure to contact me.
P.S. I can now put the subtitled videos from the PC version since I can now unpack them from the PC version, change them from .wmv to mp4, then convert them to .xmv
