Switch 7.0 Downgrade to 6.2 tutorial

Update: Since Atmosphere has released with 7.0.X support, To downgrade without a backup, just use ChoidujourNX.
For those with backups you can still follow the method below

After seeing reports of downgrading back to 6.2 been broken after updating to switch firmware version 7.0, I can confirm these to be false. I successfully downgraded my switch with 9 burnt fuses on 7.0 to 6.2 with 9 burnt fuses

Downgrading to 6.2 is possible and not broken. Both boot0/boot1 must be the same version as nand backup

  • Step 1) Place 6.2 nand + boot0/1 backup on sd card
  • Step 2) Boot into RCM and launch hekate
  • Step 3) Restore boot 0/1
  • Step 4) Restore GPP Partitions (or rawnand, I personally used GPP Partitions)
  • Step 5) Launch CFW using Hekate 4.6 or ReiNX 2.0 or sxos (haven't tested with fusee-primary)
  • Step 6) ????
  • Step 7) Profit

EDIT: This is for FG consoles not ipatched
EDIT 2: You will loose any saves you don't have backed up

Will upload proof if people desperately wish

Hello. I got a question about this. I downgadet my switch with no Problems from 7.0 to 5.1 using ChoiDujour. After that if downloadet a 6.1 and 6.2 Firmware. Have try it with both fw versions on ChoiDujourNX without any pronlems. But when i reboot the switch and launch the cfw i become an error like the picture below. Where is the Problem?

hi i have a problem
because I updated my version 5.2 to 7.0.0. but I have the nand of my version 5.2 is it possible to return in 5.2

As long as you have the rawnand.bin and boot0 boot1 files then yes, if you only backed up nand and not boot then sorry, waiting will be the only option unless you want to manual downgrade

then yes, you just need to place them in the right folder and restore them in hekate

MERCI 100000 FOIS

Alex, I'd say looking at the error it's likely to be an issue with the save folder in the SYSTEM partition. You could try backing up the system partition, then mounting the SYSTEM partition, delete everything in the save folder except 800.....120 and try rebooting. This may work although you'll loose all your saves and settings!

Although if this was the error you'd get a similiar message trying to boot stock from hekate.

Ok. Will try this and look if thos works.

Is it possible to lose the biskey keys?
even inserting from other consoles it is always possible to recover the originals ?

what? Bis keys are console unique, the only way I can see your biskey changing is changing your hardware such as nand change

if I mistakenly inserted the biskeys from one console into another, am I lost?
a console does not start CFW. nor OFW, never done downgrade. rebuilds OFW with downgrad method and remains the same black screen
lakka tv works perfectly

You didn't use your own biskeys? I'm confused, biskeys are console unique

I used the ones that were generated. Did they use another biskey? be lost.
or console always generates the same biskey even by inserting from another console on it

my fear is to have used biskey from another console saved in it wrong keys

okay start from the start, what are you trying to do? what did you last do? where did you get the keys from? What do they look like?

I took it by biskeydumpv8 or henkate4.6
does not initialize I have black screen. I bought it like this
I did the manual method and it continues black screen, burned fuses 7> 6.0.0-6.1.0 inserted the OFW 6.1

okay so you downgraded/rebuild the nand using the old method using choidujour and hacdiskmount?

What format is your Sd card?
can you run gpt restore?
