Not sure what's causing this, but the taskbar will randomly "flicker" and then refresh, I haven't found any cause of this, or when it began, it's been going on for some time. Currently monitoring activity with the task manager to see what's going on. No programs are affected, all my games, apps, etc run fine as before, no slowdown or other issues. No BSODs or crashes, just taskbar refreshing randomly, can't reproduce it or figure out a pattern, Windows 10 64-bit home, most recent updated installed. Any advice or help is welcome, thank you.

Like, it's weird, nothing else on the screen flickers, but I noticed it only on Chrome and Source Filmmaker the most, only the icons flicker/refresh, like they're repopulating at random, maybe it's the icon cache?

Mine does that too sometimes, I guess it's normal. How often does it happen?

It's random, sometimes every hour, sometimes ever 20 minutes, it's random like I said. Google search consensus makes it sound like a Windows 10 bug, albeit a very minor one, but still annoying.

well uh classic start menu if you're into that

Already have Classic Shell or whatever it's called installed, maybe that's the cause of it? Should I uninstall it?

Like I said, apps, games, etc are totally unaffected and work perfectly, it's just I see the quick refresh every so often and it's hard not to see it, I just want t make sure nothing is wrong.
Did thorough scans, no malware or viruses.

I dunno. I don't have this problem myself, so...

Mine blinks sometimes, mostly seems to do it when I empty the recycle bin, but I've seen it doing it on other occasions. It happened with both my r9 290 and 1070ti, I just assumed it was windows 10 being weird as 7 never used to do it.

So it's nothing to be terribly concerned about? And like I stated earlier, apps/games, work 100% perfectly, it happens too when I empty the recycle bin, but it's minor, games in full screen or YT is unaffected. I'll keep monitoring it, but I ran task manager for a long time, nothing alarming. GPU drivers updated to latest as a precaution.

I think it has to do with desktop refreshing
