Hey guys! First post... but been reading for a while. Thanks for all of the indirect help by the way ^^
So I have installed several Wii games and Gamecube games to my external HDD, all of the WIi U and N64 games I have installed so far have worked, but the gamecube and wii games have not. I am asked if I want to use my Wii U gamepad to play, I say yes. Then I see the game splash screen come up and the initial music indicating that it is loading... it then clears to a blank screen and the system won't turn off unless I unplug it - nothing responds at all untill I unplug and reset it. This happens with every wii and gamecube game. Am I doing something wrong? I understand that Nintendont is for playing gamecube games off of the SD card but I want to play WUP installed games that was on either my sysNAND or HDD.

Note: If possible I would like to play the wii or gamecube games with either a wii u pro controller or the gamepad if possible and NOT the wii controllers as I don't have any.

Thanks for the help!

I had similar problem.

I read somewhere that you need External HDD with external source of power (not y-cable).
- I did not try this method yet.
Or
You can inject Wii game in WiiU internal memeory. Though some games might not work, for me Pikmin is not working.
- I did this and confirmed that some games work.

we got the same problem, as Mattkimura said, there is a option that we can play GCN games via nintendont with Gamepad.
by runnning nintendont via vWII but with gamepad

in this method,
i assume you have , Mocha
i assume you have soft mod your vwii channel
i assume that you can access Homebrew channel in vwii
i assume you have nintendont in vWII

steps
1. run mocha
2. install HBC homebrew channel on WII U via WUP Installer GX,(this will allow you to go HBC with gamepad support)
3, once in HBC launch your WAD manager.
4. install Homebrew.Channel.-.OHBC.wad
5. exit and restart

in this steps you can run HBC via wii without probems
1.run mocha
2. run HBC channel
3. once in HBC exit out and you need to go back to WII U
4. run again Mocha
5. run your GCN injects

let me know how it turns out

I had the same issue. Either install to NAND or use a usb flash drive. My HDD would not play games installed onto the HDD. Possibly cuts power during the cycle to VWii mode. You can try external power.

Did the inject to GameCube USB or nand work for you?

So I tried something, I installed Mario Sunshine as a WUP to the internal storage. I started up and there also was a blackscreen. I noticed my USB was still in the back of the wiiu, so I unplugged it, and when I tried it again, it worked XD

Conclusion: Unplug your USB Drive when you start it ( If its installed in the NAND )
