I didn't read the past messages to not get spoiled.

1. is there a way to know how many collectibles you have/remaining to find per world?
in all past mario's and yoshi's games, there have always been a way to know if you forgot a coin, star, wool, flower and and start the level again to get them.

2. I'm at world 2, and would like to find everything before advancing to world 3.
I think I'm missing only 1 moon (based on parrot's hint), or none (based on captain toad)
I think the parrot only gives you hint to what's possible to find, as ittold me I found everything in world 1 even if I saw a moon on a floating island.
So, I think I miss one, and toad will not help me find it.

3. I'm missing 3 coins, I really don't know where it is as I've done all the map few times.
there's probably a hidden area I missed, but I don't know how to know which one I missed without looking at a guide and check them one by one.

So, my questions are :
- is the parrot's hint about the moon on the floating island?
- are there any triangle coins in the floating island on second world?
just to know if I should stop walking around for nothing and go to next world, or if there's a way to get all coins right now?
I know I could just advance in the story and come back later, but in all games I like doing everything possible in order before advancing.

1. You can press - to see how many moons / coins you require

2. I use video guides to find missing moons and coins, I generally find the ones by Underbuffed to be the easiest ones to follow on YouTube

3. The same as 2

Sorry I am not more helpful, maybe one of the better people will be along later... I am happy to link the guides for you if needed ?

Ohhh, I thought - was only the map.
I just found the lists ! thank you.

Too bad games don't come with booklet anymore. you have to find things by yourself and try every buttons.

It even tells me where it's located (it's a little cheating). so, I know where the last moon is. now I wonder where the 3 last coins are.
Thanks for the youtube's guide name, if I ever want something I'll look at it. for the moment I'll try a little more on my own.

Ok mate, I like the way you are doing the game, I did it the same way and then when I completed the game's main story I started working back through the levels collecting all missing moons and coins.

Just one note, which I think is common knowledge and not a spoiler, but once you complete the main story those large silver metal cubes can be hit and spit out tons more power moons for the levels, so loads and loads to do.

I am trying hard to 100% the game fully, but there is one moon in the seaside kingdom that looks like it will be my undoing, but who knows.

Really glad your enjoying the game, that's the main thing.

You can use amiibo to find moons and Bowser finds purple coins

Also some of the moons on the list you can't get untill post-game, so don't try to get them all on your first run

Yes mate, the volleyball one :(

Hopefully someone will find a work around for it soon.... I have got all the achievements now in mushroom and only have about 12 of the dark side moons left then I will have them all (apart from volley ball)

Use bowser amiibo and they will start glowing. Not a whole lot better but it's better than nothing, especially in the initial roaming phase where you haven't completed the second multi moon yet. That said hidden ones won't be easier to track.

I don't have any amiibo, but thank you :)
if it only glows more, that's sure it will not help find the hidden one.

I have all the moons (in sand world), I miss only the 3 coins.
I know I can't get all moons, but are all coins possible to get on first run?

edit:
I checked a guide, there's no purple coins on floating island.

You should be able to get every purple coin the first run through a world, yeah

Also if you find those last three coins PLEASE tell me where they were

you miss them too ? ahah
Ok, sure, I'll tell you, hoping we miss the same ones.

edit:
I peeked at the guide while looking for the floating island info, I think I saw a picture with 3 I didn't get : south west, outside of the world.
I'll go check there.

Edit:
Yes, found them !
from your ship, follow the world's border to the west.

With the Bowser amiibo, the purple coins will have a glowing ring around them. You can see the ring through walls, and it actually makes folding the coins a lot easier because it shows you where they are

The coins that I missed most of the time are in challenge rooms.

@epickid37

So I am 99% of full completion of this wonderful game

I have every single local coin and moon from every kingdom apart from the damn volleyball in seaside kingdom

Volleyball is the only thing stopping me from 100% completion on the game, very very frustrating

I have 999 moons in the Odyssey, I can't turn it gold because I need that moon and I can't open up the second Bowser painting in the church hall for the same reason

I have tried and tried and I have never gotten further than around 44 even with the 2 player trick using Cappy

I hope some clever so and so comes up with some trick or technique to get this done

I didn't use the 2 player method because I found that harder. I just ran I'm circles constantly to keep up momentum and threw Cappy if I couldn't make it in time
