Guys, since there really isn't a perfect DS emulator for the 3DS, I was wondering which flashcard is best to load DS/DSi roms and play on the 3DS?

Real-time save.. real time cheats.. few other bits and bobs. It gives access SNES/GBA emulators but these are not that useful compared to 3DS homebrew. To be fair other cards could have these features these days, I can't be bothered to check.
I'm aware of these emulators, but I don't see a need for them since virtual console injection is far superior.

Nope, that doesn't even run Wood R4. It's a clone of a clone since it's a clone of the R4i SDHC (r4i-sdhc.com) which is DSTT clone.
1. NDS-Card says this card has the ak2i interface.
2. The pictures http://www.r4isdhc.com.cn/products.asp show wood r4.
3. The kernel files are very similar too wood R4, with _RPG for example.
This is not the r4isdhc.com. Those are trash.

I have this card and it runs an unofficial version of Wood. It's still a clone of the R4i Gold nevertheless.

"Best" is a subjective term
For example, I prefer the Acekard2i over the R4i Gold. I prefer the how akAIO handles the Ak features and how homebrew friendly both the cart is and akAIO is. The R4i Gold was a bit harder to work with for homebrew launchers.
Now most people suggest the R4i Gold. It's cheap and has all the same features of akAIO, plus the added bonus of RTS.
Others prefer to the DSTWO due to the onboard hardware allowing features like a deeper Real-time menu, real-time cheats, etc. Plus GBA/SNES emulation due to the onboard CPU/RAM.

Personally, even ignoring the insane cost, I think the negatives of the DSTWO outweigh any positives in the 3DS CFW era. You can't leave it in the cartridge slot when you're not using it unless you just hate having battery life.

The AK2i and R4i Gold are both extremely solid. The AK2i is the superior ntrboot card (for those who can flash it, since it won't work on OFW 3DSes) since it works as a flashcart on CFW'd 3DSes even with ntrboot installed.

I have no experience on the $9 r4isdhc.com.cn card, but it runs Wood, so it is probably solid enough. Stay away from cards that don't run Wood in my opinion (or AKAIO in the Acekard's case).

I have to agree with @Lilith Valentine. Its ak2i for me all the way. Although apparently there is another ak card. (akrpg or something like that? not really sure what it has or if its still being sold.)

The AkRPG, which had a cool onboard NAND with the microSD card. So you had two methods of storing your games. I don't think they are sold anymore, but if they are I want one
