Thanks for the help i didnt know i have to install it but is it normal that pokemon 3gb cia file needs more than 2 hours to install getting about 100kbpsOr freeShop .. I'd recommend freeShop just because it's less hassle. With tikshop you have to install the ticket then go to eShop to download it, with freeShop you just download it from the app itself.
But that's not what the OP asked. The OP asked how to play .cia files @lamerena you must install the CIA file using FBI .. then you can delete the CIA file afterwards.

from sd card installing using fbi. The microsd card is sandisk class4 8gbWith freeShop? You do realize you have to download it first? If your internet speed is slow then downloading a 3GB game at 100kbps will take time yes.
If you mean install with FBI then no that doesn't sound normal. Fake/bad SD card?
i did a search google search some of them say 3ds don support class 10 speed so class 4 shouldnt be affected that muchhaving a class 4 is most likely your problem. mine is sandisk 64gb class 10 and currently goes at 2.16MiB/s

Bullshit. I'm using a Class 10 UHS 32GB card. It works, and it's fast.
i just quote what others said below. I using old 3ds xl so not sure whether it is true that it does not support class 10 speed, somehow installing using freeshop i get 600kbps but pokemon cia file yesterday using fbi it is 100kbps weird.
"Old 3ds supported class 6, New 3ds supports class 10. Folks have reported class 4 cards being sluggish in the old system. This is by no means scientific of course and most people probably don't even notice it. 16gig sony evo class 10 is $11 dollars from amazon though. Why not just grab a new one that is on the top end of what the unit supports?"
Just get a bigger, faster, better SD card. CIA files are pretty big, and if you're looking to install a few games, you're probably looking at a 20+GB.
8GB would be gone within maybe three or four games if that.
Plus CFW (if used) or homebrew.
It depends on the user, in all honesty.CFW and HB take barely any space unless you use emuNAND .. Which really, you shouldn't be using. CIA files taking space is irrelevant because you delete them after installation, and on FBI you can delete them while installing. A 8GB card would probably be enough but of course if you're one of those guys that like to have 200 different titles on their home menu despite only playing couple games at a time .. then yeah, the bigger the better.
Actually, it's incredibly relevant. If you had an 8GB card with only 2.1GB used, you would not be able to install Pokémon Sun. It will require 6GB free space (3GB for the cia file and 3GB to install the game).CIA files taking space is irrelevant because you delete them after installation
