In the terms of online battling, would these injected events be "legal"? Obviously they aren't legit but would they count as fair as far as the online battle security goes?

They're fine but you would want to fix a few metadatas if you're planning to inject them in a device/save that were not intended officially.

Do you know specifically which ones I would need to change? Otherwise I can just mess around with it until something works.

I should know what are you trying to inject, which region your 3DS is and stuff like these, to be able to give a correct answer

He means when you inject the pokemon, it will have an illegal sub region. I.E you inject a Japanese event pokemon with Japanese language. The country will STILL be whatever your actual location is while the 3DS region and language will both say Japan. So get a Japanese pokemon with a mixed geolocation. This does NOT make them illegal in terms of wi-fi but it's a clear indication for someone that can check them that it's not legit.

The only way to fix that is to change your location manually with PKHeX and save the trainer data. Then, the geolocation will match the event correctly.

Unless someone creates a save editor that allows changing the country data as well. As of now, every single one only changes 3ds region/language.

The main problem is that these metadatas have to be changed only AFTER you redeem the event, so this couldn't be fixed by the app automatically

Or like I said you can do it before, and not change the language at all during injection. If you're save game already has correct metadata you changed in PKHeX prior, it works fine.

So as long as I just inject pokemon from the region I'm from (US in my case) I won't have to worry about editing metadata right?
