Should I be mashing A when I boot FBI?
Because when I do I skip past the screen where I would see Done by pressing A i guess because it goes to the main menu almost instantly.

You shouldn't skip it and I highly advise to not mash A button. If it says done, press A and it should bring you to the menu. If it says done but has distorted text or you cant press A, you should restart and do it again

Spamming A is the hardest way. First eject the cartridge after the bluescreen appears on FBI and then spam A. It works for me everytime.
(Or just eject card before bluescreen or on bluescreen.)

Do not mash any button. That is probably more likely to corrupt the program. Just press any button once after you see "Done." If nothing happens, well then you have to retry.

Did deleting with FBI and reinstalling it in the eshop work or not?

I have HHD EUR Legit Version installed on my USA 10.3 O3ds. It does not show up on my home menu, but does show up in HANS. However, in HANS, it does not work, it just red screens.

Can you walk me through the steps to delete /redownload/update please and thank you?

You need to update it from eshop and you need an EUR 3DS to access Europe's eshop.
It's a dead end for USA users (like me).

Because it's a buggy, unfinished, leaked version of the program. It's not even remotely stable yet, but it does in fact work. We've noticed that success with the O3DS and 2DS is around 80-90%, whereas N3DS is around 1-5%.

This really is the key. I tried ALL day yesterday and finally got in right before I went to bed last night. Just make sure you have all of the .cia files on your SD card that you're going to want to install, because you might never get back in again. xD

Yup. My O3DS works with the eject card trick though so I can pretty much access the FBI menu whenever I want.

New 3DS XL here. I love it, but it's sad that it doesn't play nice with FBI.

Don't bother starting the application if it says "Cleaning up..." because you'll get this error. Just reboot.
