It's just for research purposes. Is it possible to get an emunand version lower than the sysnand version?

I mean without a hard mod or a nand backup, of course.

You can use sysupdater and select downgrade option. But lower firmware version will be hard to find cuz nintendo removed old firmware. You can find 9.x firmware on that iso site.

For some reason I want to say that trying a full system firmware downgrade with sysupdater will brick your emunand. Pretty sure you cannot just install a lower version of Native_FIRM, even with sysupdater. I was under the impression that the "downgrade" option was intended to allow you to install an older version of a app (like the eshop, mint or the browser) because the system traditionally does a simple version comparison and won't install if the current one is the same or higher in most circumstances.

I've successfully downgraded an old 3ds emunand from 9.9 to 9.5 for System transfer to a new 3ds emunand 9.5.

Sounds like it should work then. I recommend backing up your emunand and the SD card it is on first just to be safe though.

How did you system transfer? Rxtools or another way?
I'm waiting for an easier way or Gateway.

What is the source system and what is the target system for you?

Both model and current firmware versions (emunand as well as sysnand)

Oh that's cool. But why would you need system transfer in this case? I thought it was not possible to boot if the nand was cross systems (old<->new).

Well I'm on 9.2. Since New3DS can get the emunand 9.5 I guess.

It is true that a nand/emunand from an O3DS will not work with a N3DS (or the other way around), but you can do an actual system transfer, which is what he is talking about doing.

Dude I need to know this info for both systems. Any assumptions I might make could be wrong and if you act on said assumptions you risk bricking your system.

Yeah the o3ds is 7.x. You would need emunand anyway I think.

I did it too, o3ds downgraded from 10.3 to 9.5 using sysupdater,
and System Transfer o3ds emunand to n3ds emunand using that fix to access eshop with gateway.
Installing cver and tiger, and using freemultipatcher to access eshop i was able to do a system transfer from o3ds to n3ds emunands.
