I tried Mortal Kombat II under MAME 0.78 3dsx on my N3DS and I'm getting about 40 fps in fights. Pretty good!

Would it benefit from kernel access in a cia build?

Not really. If the CPU cores in MAME had dynarecs, then yeah, but at the moment they don't.

How would launching it under something such as Xenoblade turn out?
Probably not well; pdapanda tried that unsuccessfully a while back:
Well, it works with Smashbros too,but won‘t work with Xenoblade3D
Depending on what the exact issue was preventing it working, you might be able to launch MAME 2000 under Xenoblade, since it doesn't need as large a .text, but FBA and MAME 2003 are probably out of the question.

What emulator are you playing this on, is PCE fixed?

It's on MAME 2000 emulator

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

What is the FPS ingame? How is the sound?

So far on MAME 2000 has the BEST sound and FPS is near Perfect it's like 59fps

So that's pretty good!

Awesome. Splatterhouse 3 is my fav of them all and runs decently on the Genesis core.

Do you notice an appreciable difference between MAME 2000 and 2003?

neogeo/cps2 testbuilds:
http://buildbot.libretro.com/.aliaspider/ra_test_01_11_2015.7z

can you try some of those games that didn't work before ?
I am completely off pace with how fast this thread updated the last few days.

Questions:

  • Is there newer build for the neo geo and CPS2 of the post I quoted
  • Does the new build added to the nightly build link on the OP or these are different
  • Is there we can organize for easy to track these build?

Looking forward to trying MAME 2000. Hopefully they fixed that irksome orientation issue for vertical games!

The improvents in the test build were applied to the nightlies.

I hope there is a save for rotation, the screen display the vertical roms correctly only when the rotation is disabled.

I really wanna play Galaga and Donkey Kong and other Vertical games.... Just not in the way it is now because it's too confusing and not comfortable

I've just tested Abe's Odyssey. The cutscenes run at 45-47 FPS. Gameplay seems to be full speed at 59 FPS.
The pcsx tests continue,

Heart of Darkness : cutscenes at 51-52 FPS, gameplay full speed at 59 FPS

My only concern with this emulator is that even at full speed, the sound is crackling almost all the time with all the games, which is pretty annoying.

I just tried Mega Zone (Konami) with MAME 2000, and it worked great. You just need to screw around with the video settings a bit, and turn on bilinear filtering. It's blurry, but quite playable. I suspect it'll be the same way for other vertical games. No more having to turn your 3DS sideways!

Wow, i did miss a few things : FBA (non cps/ng) / Mame, cool :)
Bus if i read correct, i do need the xml files (provided a few pages back) and i need to download MH4 demo or Smash (Smash demo isn't available anymore anyway :/)
Time to test out the eshop thing under homebrew launcher :)
and get mame ready :)

What is "samples"? I mean I'm using FBA (N3DS, 9.2 in .cia) and I have interest in it. I understood that it is small pictures of each games? So I could select my games in FBA with pictures and not lines of text?
Someone can try to teach me how?
Thanks, guys.
