Also, didn't oothax require a USB dongle for managing the saves or something like that?

Well, Ocarina of Time is a great game, you would be stupid buying it just for homebrew.

It's like buying Coca Cola and Mentos for the sole purpose of creating a gigantic sugar-saturated geiser.

well, using oot hax kinda leaves you with only one save state to play the game and i wouldnt even bet on that one being entirely save. if the hax ever gets some kind of update, it might need all the room too

That's not how it works. The save just contains the files that will execute the payload, which will execute boot.3dsx, which is in your SD Card.
