Does RetroArch make use of the 3DS ARM9 CPU? Or does it only use ARM11 alone? It can get a big speed boost if it can use ARM9. Also does Smea's ninjhax 2.1 allow for arm9 access or not? Not kernel access but just utilization of the ARM9.

@DjoeN I'm sure it's possible (though not with current settings, it seems), but whether it would be any fun is another matter. CPS machines display at 384*224, or for vertical titles, 224*384. The 3DS screen is only 240 pixels tall, so you'd have to shrink the image by about 40% just to fit it all on-screen. This will probably makes shmups in particular exceptionally difficult, as now enemy fire is even less visible than before. The 3DS is really just not a good choice for playing vertically-oriented arcade games.

@aliaspider The new builds with support for loading larger ROMs are working great, I've been able to fire up larger CPS-2 ROMs like Marvel vs. Capcom (20.5MB) and Neo Geo games like Zupapa (17MB). Metal Slug X still seems to be outside the realm of reason though at 27MB/63MB uncompressed, and Neo Geo games do tend to skew toward massive, so I'm sure many more remain incompatible. However, most games I'm interested in playing aren't all that big so I'm very happy with the current state; great work.

Q: For CPS1

i fixed it by choosing "Settings" "Video" " Rotation": 90deg:

My question now is:
Can the screen be rotated 90 degrees to the right so i can play it normal without turning my N3DSXL 90° ?
Don't care to play it with 2 black borders on the side

Also it seems when i save the configuration, it's for aal games, so when playing Area88 (or UNSquadron) i need to set ratation to normal, alse that game is in mirror.
Would be nice if you could save a cinfig for each game (something like -> if no config, use standard config, if found a config with the same game name, us that config)

Thanx for the mirroring tips! I think it is EPIC to play games in that format

Woah you can play games on MAME? Why not port MAME to 3ds? Also try to rotate it a bit more maybe then you will get the desired result, just mess around the video settings

Mainline is highly unlikely... it's a memory hog and consoles (and portable consoles) don't really have RAM to spare. Maybe 078 or imame4all could be possible

I put my neogeo.zip in the Roms Folder and also in the Retroarch/Cores/System Folder. Also, I have UniBIOS 3.1, but it only does 3.0 . So Samshow2 will still have the Infinite Time/Health issue

I don't think, cause the roms are split sets, so if you start "captcommu" (usa romset) it also loads "captcomm" (main romset) cause captcommu only holds the files with a difference, all the rest it will load from the main set

Trying all CPS1 sets i have, but then again, like allready asked where's a full list of CPS1 / CPS2 / NeoGeo roms suppported by (retroarch) FBA? Also, never been into FBA, so is there some windows tool to check my romsets and correct them?

Can't rename them. It is just the way it works with the arcades sets. And as stated above you sometimes need the parent roms to run different versions.
