Right so after four tries with four different SD cards i got it to work lol.

The problem was that every microSD card i used in the N3DS had some emuNand on it which is why it kept installing to the incorrect NAND. So i SDFormatted my 4gb microSD card twice then used it and worked a treat and installed the old Settings.

What Gateway forgot to mention was that you need to use a microSD card that has NOT got any emuNand on it.

After a reboot its still there and working.
I used the first devmenu download I found, and a 64GB microSD card in my gateway and i had no problems.

Why is everyone installing ROPinstaller for?

The ropinstaller is to quickly reinstall the mset exploit if it gets removed from playing a ds game, Some people the exploit doesn't get deleted apparently, but anytime I play a ds game it does get deleted, so its easier to use it to reinstall then swapping out msd cards.

Sry to ask so noobish but can the old 3ds boot into Gateway mode with the classic System Settings DS Profile method with the new update ?

true & i would like to find out why is this as i have tried the exploit on 2 different N3DS consoles one is XL AUS on 9.0E firmware (exploit is deleted after playing DS games) & the other console is regular N3DS EU on 9.0E firmware (exploit is not deleted after playing DS games) !!

Yes, with 3.2 GW ultra on 9.0-9.2 n3ds. 3.1 wouldn't work because it isn't coded to work with the new rop chain. My homebrew uses the dumped chain from 3.2's "NVRAM Install" feature.

Yeah, there was this guy,

it's works

thanks

Ok so here is another evidence that the XLs are losing the exploit after playing a DS game.

I believe the XL's do have a slightly different DS mode, because they allow you to play with 1:1 pixel mapping by holding START or SELECT when entering DS mode.

Nah AUS is the EUR FW and we had N3DS' with EUR FWs which do not reset the profile data.
It has to do something with the model.

guys I used the blue gateway card to run a ds game and now i cannot install the exploit again from the gateway blue card. after installing it when I press ds profile i get a black screen with error message. What should I do?
Use CN again and install nvram from gateway menu?

ok.. ill try to explain it... keep the msD you use for your emunand somewhere safe.. make sure it has the mset cia from your region..... on another msD card...(use a 4gb one) format it and put devmenu.3ds also put the launcher 3.2 in it... with the 3ds off put that card into the 3ds.... boot into the GW menu.... go to the far right and install the nvram thing..... once it finishes put an empty red card into the card slot and boot into GW mode... once there remove the msD card and put that card into the GW Red Card... hit select and dev menu will appear.. hit A.... find the mset CIA from your region and install it... exit and reboot... and find the ds profile.....

i removed micro sd to insert it to red cart but apperanty doing that while 3ds on f.ked up my system

Ok after installing NVRAM from gateway menu it launches the exploit from ds profile normally.
I guess we cannot install the exploit through blue gateway card.

My money is on the XLs, because of the different DS mode. Where can I place a bet?
That's not it, I'm on N3DS LL (XL in japan), and never lose the exploit after playing a retail/flashcard NDS game.
