Why doesn't someone ask Gateway if they added support for 5.x and 6.x? Wouldn't that be an indication that they are close to release if they say yes or no?

Nope because that is not server related (which is preventing the release of the update)

Not really. I think they made a good move by announcing 9.2 support in november. It got a lot of people to buy gateways preemptively, and if you want proof then look at how many new kids are in this thread.

For my case, I will buy the Gateway only if EmuNAND works with all firmwares between 4.x-9.2
