So, I have THIS piece of "magic": http://www.r4igold.cc/index.asp (non 3DS version) for my 3DS and updated to the new frimware so that I could FOLDERS... aaand my R4 now doesn't work... So is there any chance that in a near future my R4 finally works, or should I start looking for an Acekard?

Probably. I assumed that his original R4 kernel didn't allow folders in the menu, never really thought about the new addition to the 3DS. Also, I don't mind, it's quite alright, I get your point.

Honestly? His best bet for never getting "locked out" is a DSTwo as it may update all by itself as long as it's in a DS/i/3DS.

An Acekard 2i or an R4iDS.cn are the second and third optimal choices.

R4igold.cc had a 3DS Update back in the day. The problem is: those guys took like 4 months to get a 1.4.3U DSi update (I had to wait..), so don't expect a R4igold.cc update anytime soon

That was just the first page of google; I was too lazy to look if there were any other sloppy flash cart makers.

If your card is "R4iGold.cc (3DS version)" then an update is available via the above link, if it isn't then you'll have to wait. If an update isn't available then you should've waited before updating your 3DS. Now you'll have to wait for a Firmware update to come out for your Flashcard and then you'll need to borrow a DS/lite in order to perform the update(since obviously your 3DS can no longer load your card in order to update). If your Flashcard is never updated then you'll have to buy a new one. I recommend any Flashcard NDS-Gear.com sells, like the Acekard 2i, Supercard DSTwo, or the Real R4i 3DS.

Alright It seems that this R4 had a frimware update for DSi 1.4.4 in the form of a .nds patch. So I downloaded it and tried it on my good 'ol DSphat and it now works! splendid a Crappy, cheap, BR clone of an R4 that doesn't even supports Wood kernel is able to outsmart nintendo's latest endeavor to increase DS games sales.

Remember, never update until you know it won't disable your flash cart. Always upgrade the firmware on your cart BEFORE updating your 3DS. This is day one knowledge, folks.

Let's be even more specific - not the menu, not the kernel, the firmware. Internal firmware - not what you usually change to enhance compatibility.
