Okay, so now that I had some spare time, I decided to go start with patching codes in for the series of Pokemon GBA games - at the very least, Emerald as that was the one version I was closest to 100%'ing the 'dex on (thanks to a glitch using the BP give code at the battle factory

).

Anyway, so I DEADBEEF the game in order to look for the memory addresses as instructed, but when I load up the rom in VBA, I find that it just seems stuck at a white screen, without so much as attempting to load the game. While I found the memory addresses with no problem, now I wonder whether I'll be able to patch the necessary codes I'd want so I can go play them as I want to play them. Any help on this matter?
Sorry for not replying sooner. but also had some free time to try this out more.

Again, take a normal Pokemon GBA ROM, DEADBEEF it, and load it up in VBA to test. In VBA, the game(s) all just stay frozen on a white screen.

Also, on another note, setting up the rom for FF6 Advance (so I can FINALLY finish the game), and find that my usual settings for GBA FF games (255, no vblank) seems to be causing really bad slowdown in the battle portions. Not sure what this is about, but any suggestions to enabling codes to keep the speed intact are more than welcome.

Sorry about not getting around to figure out what is going on. I will try to make time for it soon. In the meantime for FF6 try using an enable/disable with it and turn it off at the start of a battle and switch it back on at the end or if you need to refill hp/mp/etc.

That's what I usually do (read: disabled at start).

The codes I have on regarding battle are for increased crits, and maximum AP earned. I don't have any of the codes that would keep HP/MP full.

For FF6A, these are the codes I have:
Code:
[M] Must Be On
910AD66CB9B3
BCF3FB7A9475
138C1421E7A2

Have Maximum Gil
93965CB1FB51
3858EA1D700C

Have Bushido Skills
C738108A6BFB
Have Blitz Skills
1B77F7C51800
Have Lore Skills
1BFDF7C59808
DF573FC2C802
Have Rage Skills
9B13F9C9DB10
9609593E465D
Have Dance Skills
311359DD1902

Gain Maximum AP
C6ED873217FD
C73D15864BDB
It'd be nice to have more, but that would be enough if I can have these.

Another game where I have an issue.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.

Found out Codebreaker had some much nice codes for this game... specifically, +9 bonus for level-ups
biggrin.gif
want to use that, of course.

When I DEADBEEF the ROM, it starts up normally and am able to find a nice long string of them in the VBA's memory viewer in the right range. But after patching it in the usual ways (Trainer checkbox, disabled at start, and all sorts of ranges on cycles and un/checking VBLANK), when I start up the ROM again, it simply goes to a white screen (of death?
tongue.gif
) after the GB Player logo shows.

Not sure what to say about that.

Pretty much the main codes I want to have GBAATM employ right now (and can't) are:
CODEEnable Code (Must Be On)
0000186A 000A
10017FC6 0007

Infinite Coins
820048E0 270F

Hold Select For Stat Bonus Always +9
74000130 03FB
33003F82 0009
These codes are meant for Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.

Using GBAATM's DEADBEEF feature, I can play the ROM with no problems, and find plenty of DEADBEEF space in the memory viewer on VBA.

Yet every single time I try to put ANY codes there at all, the game will simply fade to white after the "Game Boy Player" startup logo fades away. I can't play the game at all when I patch these codes in.

I've tried:
  • Changing wait cycles from 1 to 127, 255
  • Unchecking and rechecking "Wait for VBLANK" box on each change of cycles
  • Selecting alternate memory addresses to patch the codes into (those that DID show DEADBEEF)
So far, every attempt has resulted in the same unplayable game.

GBAATM worked nicely to add Pokemon Emerald, Fire Red and Leaf Green cheats for use with M3SD Perfect. I pulled the primary codes from Gameshark.com and decrypted with cbacrypt. The particular settings were:

Patches - Trainer
Enabled at Start - Yes
Trainer Menu - enabled
Execute every 255 cycles
VBLANK check - disabled
RAM to use 0x3007FA0
Code type - Codebreaker/GS v3

Finally, use M3 Game manager v36a to transfer the ROM to your SD card using default settings.

Thanks for the help. I haven't been able to test anything at all or be online much due to being evacuated from flooding. I will add those setting to the ini when I get the chance.

Hi, i'm new at using GBAATM...... can anyone please help me out.... i have tried different codes (Code Breaker, Gameshark SP) but i am unable to get them to work with GBAATM...
i have tried to use the codes on this site
http://www.bsfree.org/index.php?s=30&d...216&c=44572

0000B138 000A
10000428 0007

82025BC4 E0FF
82025BC6 05F5

82025C94 0044

for Pokemon Ruby..... but i can get the cheats to work on VBA.
wanted to load the rom file to the chinese psp clone...... that has no cheat support...
Maybe i'm not doing it properly..... Is there any guide on using GBAATM correctly???

Very simple question but Ive tried to find an answer, when created a Trainer Menu, I format my cheats like this:

Cheats 1
B05557898BBD
F95340E4DFFD
B02FC0E07138
8027CBC08B39

Cheat 2
19C67C656689
94318A10E753

Cheat 3
19C67C656689
94318B106753

But when I run the ROM it only shows Cheat 1 in the trainer menu, is there some special spacing or charactor I must use?

Pretty good software; I love how I can patch a RPG with a cheat that will let me gain exp faster, like when I wanted to play Pokémon My Ass but didn't want to struggle through the game.

I've been trying to get this to work for Metroid Fusion with no success. When I try to pick a save file nothing shows up so I type the name of a known save file. Trainer and enable/disable are checked. I copy and paste the codes and hit patch and the program tells me the patch is successful but when i try to start up the game I get this:

any help would be greatly appreciated

cracker are you still working on this by chance?

Annoyingly, I'm still unable to get any cheats to actually respond at all with this for any of the Pokemon GBA games. There were some especially good ones for Emerald I want to use intended for the GamesharkSP.

I was also wondering if you had any chance to help get the codes for Superstar Saga working?

Is that you work here or reacted into your emails would not work and also not so bad huh 've already found a few bugs but okay for the rest nice program manages
