Has this happened to anyone else? I played Super Mario 3D land for a few hours today and used the computer straight afterward. I know I wasn't looking at a 3D screen anymore but it seemed like the text was floating off of the page as if it were. I'm not really concerned, I just found it kind of amusing.

This happened to me as well, I was playing my 3DS for a while, then I switched to my DSi, played a Zelda game (don't remember which one....) and I saw some stuff floating out the screen. I got worried at first, but now I see other people are having the same experience, so I'm not worried anymore.

i did that once or twice when i played. it was weird. but coool.

I sometimes have an effect like that with really bright red/blue combinations. Put "HEB store logo" into Google images for an example. That one sometimes really messes with my perception. I blame the 3D glasses for color TVs and printed stereograms, heh.

Yeah that used to happen when I first got my 3ds but it doesn't anymore. Maybe it's because I don't play it as much now. It mainly happens when the text is over a solid colour.

Yeah I remember that, although for me it happened more with signatures. For example, with philip11's sig both the the text and part of that pokemon would be popping out. I miss the effect really.

hate to be a dull person, but you should really take regular breaks if you are seeing things like this.
dont get me wrong, I dont.
I _WORK_ with 3D on a day to day basis and i've never got this, but then again, i wear the glasses, but rarely take breaks... but i should, and so should you.
peace.

It could be the fact that the eyes were tricked into seeing unconventional images (as 3D works by the eyes making two images into one). I wouldn't worry about it, as it will more than likely go away after a little while. If it's a major concern for you, I'd go see an eye doctor as soon as you can. I do see weird quirks like that (after reading white text on a black background on a website), I still "see" the text floating around for two or so minutes after looking at it (faded, but still see what looks like text). Things like that kinda freak me out, but I'm weird anyway.

I used to see this before the 3DS with red text on a black background and textbooks if I focused enough. The 3DS didn't do anything to your eyes, people. :/

I managed to achieve this effect earlier; it's quite fun.

Of course now, I might be able to reproduce it more easily without it.
