With the way SD card prices are going, within a year it will be cheaper to just buy the games.

Not technically, mig switch would theoretically have to update for Express sd card to work with switch 2 to be useable. 512gb sd card is $120 where a single switch 2 game is $70. Mig switch main purpose was to already play games you already own. Granted if it ever does get exploited to run on switch 2 or switch 2 romz, sd card would still be the cheaper option.

ain't they use same flash memory?

This is EoF, why are you taking posts seriously?

If you want me to be serious, anecdotally even regular mSD card prices have significantly risen over the past few months like SSDs, that's the basis for my joke.....well I hope it remains that way.

I don't know by how much Nintendo are affected by the flash shortage, although apparently it's some 'hybrid' solution called "XtraROM" so maybe they have some resiliance if their supplier has their own stock and doesn't try to exploit the situation?:

Note: I only did a quick Google search/skim read, nothing extensive in case the above is wrong.

If things did get that bad I can see Nintendo either increasing prices or just dropping physical carts/extending game key cards/CiaB and relying on people downloading the games off the eshop.

Of course that would ruin my joke unless you count of people either already owning an mSD or relying on redownloading games to internal storage.

Big if true. Switch 2 ROMz + microSD = save $$$

As always get in the van.

You made it sound serious 🤔

The label I created by hand using a scan of a MIG Switch cartridge off the internet; scanned the eye at the top of the label with Inkscape (you'll notice why it's missing details because they're very fine). Got some Russian font off DaFont for the "VAN" text and traced over the "MIG" logo. As for the van itself, this is some transparent PNG I got off Google.

Sad that people can't tell what's real anymore.
