"Mario Kart Wii Deluxe X" mod has been updated to v10 bringing over 700+ tracks

One of the most ambitious and complete hacks for Mario Kart Wii has just received a brand new update, with Mario Kart Wii Deluxe getting its v10 (X) release as of just a few hours ago.

Mario Kart Wii Deluxe X is a complete modification of the original Mario Kart Wii which aims to bring an outstanding number of new tracks to the beloved classic from the Wii era, with over 700 tracks being added into the game, including almost every track from every other Mario Kart video game in existence, from the original Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64, all the way up to the most recent Mario Kart game, Mario Kart World on the Switch 2, and even some of the most obscure titles like Tour and Arcade GP.

Additionally, Deluxe X comes in 4 coloured editions, Blue, Red, Green and Purple, with each one offering different kinds of perks so the player can choose which one they prefer over another version, and play the mod to their liking. As a quick summary, these are some of the features from each version:
  • Blue: Base version which tries to mimic the latest Mario Kart (World). The update brings character selection animations for Mario & Pauline from Mario Kart World as well as interface and music from MKW, new vehicles.
  • Red: This version tries to mimic Mario Kart Tour. The update brings new skins for characters, original music for official Nintendo tracks.
  • Green: Super Smash Bros. style version, with characters from multiple franchises. The update adds new characters, with Kirby and Olimar joining the roster, updated Pacman and Bomberman, Smash-style music for official tracks.
  • Purple: Riivolution version, which allows for character mods and other changes. The update brings the Purple edition back as a coloured option, with original elements to customize, custom music on all tracks.
There's also more features overall for the mod:
  • Each version has a different item box design, with Blue having a MKW style, Red having MK8 style and Green having original boxes
  • Double item boxes are now a feature, similar to those from Mario Kart Double Dash
  • Real time item tracking
  • Optimized Tour tracks
  • Shock squishing
  • Duration bar for Golden Mushrooms
  • Star animations like in Mario Kart DS
  • A new Blooper
  • Statistics changes in some vehicles
  • Framerate options
  • A grand total of 752 tracks!
The mod is compatible with both the Dolphin emulator and real Wii hardware via Riivolution loading.
Those interested in trying out this mod can do so by visiting the Mario Kart Wii Deluxe X mod's Discord server, and choosing the version of your liking. Alternatively, users can download the Purple (Riivolution) version from the Custom Mario Kart Wiiki . Remember, that you're required to own a copy of Mario Kart Wii in order to play this mod.

The community: "Why do companies have to make several versions of a game with different things each? I can never play the full game that way, can't wait for the modders to bring all the content together into one patch!!"

The modders: "We made four version of our mod with different content each LMAO"

Mario Kart Wii was always my favorite, since it's still the only version with wheelies for motorcycles and shaking for tricks.

I'm super excited for this, planning to try the green edition (new character ) when I have time.

This looks like so much fun! I can’t believe how much work went into this. Kudos, I will enjoy this

Discord-only release? That's a hard pass for me.
You want them to host it somewhere where it's taken down immediately by Nintendo?

You mean such as Discord, which is beholden to DMCA and constantly shuts down servers daily because big corporations want them to, due to the content on their Discord server they provide?

Yes, you heard correctly, they could've put it many other places that are not beholden to DMCAs or copyright, or generally just safer hosters, of which there are many. Discord was the worst decision here, and make no mistake, they did it ONLY for increasing their Discord server's user count so they can pound their chests with the typical "look how popular we are, we're at the top of the social ladder now :creep:" internet shoulder-pat points.

A Discord server should always be optional, especially because of how prone it is to just being nuked over night (I've witnessed this happening more than once). Anyone who doesn't understand this and works on such a project, is either ignorant, naive, or aware of it but does it anyways because they want the internet shoulder-pat points regardless, screw the work and all the effort just for some slithers of recognition by strangers in the digital realm.

very cool and all that but i don't want to go inside of a discord just to get something.
I bet someone's going to mirror the download for it somewhere else soon enough to make it take-down resilient, which apparently the creators of the mod seem to not be interested in doing for the aforementioned reasons in my post above yours.

Mind you, they DO provide links to other download sources, but doing that only on the Discord is still foolish at best due to the aforementioned take-down possibility.
