We know. You've demonstrated a pattern of putting your head in the sand when it comes to the increasing racism and bigotry in your political affiliation.
You don’t care about them using no-no words in a chat room either, and I don’t know why you’re pretending that you do.

No, I do care when people who actually hold office or a level of influence are being like this behind closed doors. And fuck you for saying otherwise.

I'd legit consider becoming a patron if this piece of shit wasn't a moderator here.

You absolutely do not care that a bunch of “young Republicans” make racist jokes in a private chat room - you automatically assume that they have a wardrobe full of Klan hoods right next to their mini-shrine of Hitler, and pretending that you *don’t* think that is insulting to your intelligence and mine. We both know that the outrage is entirely performative, you’ve been calling them fascist/nazis/klansmen long before the leak, nothing has changed.
We're trying to but once again, the shutdown and the general anti science stance we get with your side...
The average “young Republican” is not on “my side”. In fact, they’re probably diametrically opposed to my side on a bunch of key issues, like separation of church and state, drug legalisation and so on. The average “young Republican” operates in a way that is antithetical to freedom - they’re just as ban happy as you guys are, just in different ways.

As for anti-science, I don’t know if I would readily take policy prescriptions from “the side” that shoves organic crystals up their noses to improve their chakras. I will say that it was quite humorous when American witches started casting “mass spells” (whatever that means) against President Trump, only to proclaim that he will most likely be unaffected because he’s protected by powerful magical barriers.

https://cbn.com/news/us/witches-report-their-spells-against-trump-arent-working-he-has-shield

This naturally doesn’t represent the average Democrat, however “your side” has no shortage of goofballs and kooks. I’m not dismissing the possibility of Republican witches, but I have a feeling that they’re probably more left-leaning. Can’t have a good coven without dancing around the fire in the nude, that’s what I say.

Dude shut the fuck up and fuck off you Nazi apologist. Your attitude is just one example of why this is becoming more prevalent.

You and I both know what you're trying to do here. Reevaluate your morals you fucking loser.

That’s not a rebuttal. You can lie to me all day long, I *know* you don’t care. It’s performative, it’s goofy and, most of all, it’s impotent. I read somewhere that the chat room in question features “over 250 slurs” recorded over the span of 9 months (including the r-word). That’s, let me do some napkin math… less than 1 slur per day. Must’ve been a slow year at the Hitler Jugend, those are rookie numbers. All jokes aside (and let’s be real, they are jokes, we both know this), edgy humour of this nature is *not* uncommon, especially among “young” people. If it was, I wouldn’t see kawaii renditions of rainbows shooting out of Kirk’s neck every time I open X. I’m not sure what people are *expected* to say about this. It’s in bad taste. That’s all I really have to say on the matter anyway.

Dude fuck you, for real.

Nazi apologist piece of shit who has moderation privileges is fucking ridiculous.

less than 1 slur per day.
More Nazi apologism here. Most people here would get fired for the single slur once public.

And we're back to his head in the sand

omg leftists always overreact
a bunch of kids made some jokes who cares

*¹: 'kids' here means people between the ages of 18 and 40
*²: 'some jokes' here means continuous bigotry and hitlerite references over a long period of time

You keep bringing it up like it matters - we’re having a conversation, it doesn’t matter if I’m a mod or not. It exists within the confines of the site’s rules. You think I don’t get a bollocking if I break the rules? You’d be surprised, I’ve been in hot water before just like everybody else. We’re talking about the subject as two individuals. If you’re not comfortable with that, you’re not required to respond to me. If you do, you do so electively. I haven’t insulted you once so far, by the way. The opinions I express are mine and mine only - they’re in no way representative of the site or any person besides myself.

I can’t say that I’ve read the entire backlog of messages because I have better things to do than reading what “young Republicans” have to say in their private correspondence. What I did see was a bunch of very obvious, very hyperbolic jokes, then I lost interest.

I will also bet cash money that you use “the r-word” multiple times a day without blinking and the fact that Politico listed that as an “ableist slur” is quite a funny way to inflate the numbers. That’s neither here nor there though, I understand the need to appear more virtuous on the Internet than we all are in our private lives.

Like I said, I don’t have much more to add. I’d have to read the messages in more depth to provide more nuanced commentary and I simply have no interest in doing so.

You'd lose that bet. I do not use ableist slurs because I have some sense of moral decency and respect.

All you've devolved to is "no you don't" and hypothetical whataboutism. You're pathetic

That’s fine, this isn’t a popularity contest.

Good grief. Seems like you want to be the disingenuous type again.

So let's talk a couple things that happened in nazi germany real quick
1. hitler did run on immigration because it "diluted" the blood of the German race, deportation was a thing he massively pushed for.
2. Co-opting Christianity isn't a first for nazi's. Happened under germany. Oh, resulting in a maytr too I must add. Which was then further used to propel the nazi cause.
3. banning of books and going after universities was also something hitler did. Specifically destroying and removing anything about lgbtq people, and any literature that may of been created by someone who supported the communist and democratic socialists parties.
4. Also they would then take all the "undesirables" and call them evil, or demonize them. Those groups? Criminals, the none working/homeless, gay and queer, and eventually jewish people, and then the communists and democratic socialists. Eventually going a step further and advocating for their removal.

All of what I just said, sounds pretty damn familiar with what the current Republican Party is trying to do. Quit trying to sane wash this crap. It speaks and quacks like one, and this chat isn't helping it.

Which that category included: trans, gay, homeless, or people out of work.

I already spoke at some length about nazism, fascism and the church, so it’d be pointless for me to repeat myself. I can instead direct you here:

I also can’t help but remind you that I’m Polish.

I despise this form of faceism. Even insta-graham crackers are better.

Tick tock, time moves on; I intend to take it easy and play some video games tonight.

Fortunately, I have "dis"...cord that can be useful for them.

Did plenty already with twitch reflexes; for a guy who is sick, they said "that's sick!" to my Desktop setup and wanted a similar one.

I also can’t help but remind you that I’m Polish.
I had another polish friend inform me that the right wing party over there is also a mess, so sorry, but I am not taking that part at complete face value.
Also you completely skipped over everything else.

But that's fine, I'll just draw the similarities
1. Immigration, specifically regards to "dilution"
people in the states already know about the far right conspiracy theory that is "the great replacement theory" which is just basically blood dilution rehashed to be quieter effectively. This fear, in combination with previous rhetoric is then being used to go after people who aren't white. And deport them. Regardless if they are a citizen or not. Legally migrated or not.

2. Religion. Horst Wessel's death was used as martyr, which I must add, was successful.
Because quite literally the propaganda minister, took his death, and turned into a song. AND BECAME THE OFFICIAL ANTHEM OF THE NAZI PARTY
Regardless if you want to argue if that religion was "successful" doesn't matter, because it was then used as a hammer to kill undesirables. It was used to further boost the cause, to boost more harm.

3. lgbtq books were banned and burned in Germany, along with research universities were doing. Akin to what Trump's admin has done with removing historical pages that included trans or gay people. And his attacks on universities going after "DEI" and trying to strip funding, suing, trying everything to put them in the ground.

I hate the for profit system for collages in the states, but outright getting rid of higher education because you don't like it isn't the answer.

So again, please stop sane washing this. This isn't just some people "joking" around. It gets so irony poisoned that it's become impossible to pull the "clowns" apart from actual Nazi's. Because they are clearly acting on it.

One of the people in that leaked group chat, is a fucking senator.

It does. That’s what happens when you call everyone a Nazi. Perhaps cooler heads should’ve reigned in the shitposting, but then again, there probably wasn’t an expectation to do so in a private chat room.

As for your other points, I’ve heard them all before. The government isn’t in the business of “banning books” - whenever I hear that in the context of the U.S. it comes down to a book being removed from a library. You can go to Barns & Noble right now and buy so much LGBT literature that you head will burst, none of it is “banned”. Every administration changes the curriculum, every administration adds and removes pages from their websites based on their platform. This administration is expressly against DEI-style policies, so I’m not surprised such pages are vanishing. They’re probably not super into constantly beaming rainbows in every direction either, and the content of the government’s websites reflects that - I’m not going to say that you’re wrong when you’re right.

What I will say is that the whole “getting rid of the undesirables” shtick you’re selling me is a pretty slow boil given the fact that it’s Trump’s fifth year in office now and, so far, the only thing that actually materialised that’s noteworthy is a very aggressive push in regards to immigration law enforcement and deportations. That would be a fair point to raise if it wasn’t the same platform his predecessor ran on - border security, including physical barriers and deportations.

What standard are you appealing to when you claim that there are objectively morally reprehensible things? If morality is determined by an adaptive human society, as you have previously asserted below, then morality is ultimately dependent upon societal preferences. Objective morality, by definition, is universal and independent of preferences determined by the context of culture, time, and geographical location.
Whether you call it objective or not, I think everyone can agree that some actions like torture, exploitation, or genocide consistently cause suffering and undermine a society from cooperating. So no matter what framework you want to use, it is objectively the right choice to resist those things.

You also seem to be asserting that there are both objective moral standards and subjective moral standards. This poses an issue because you must now appeal to a standard yet more authoritative that is used to discern objective morality and subjective morality. What is this higher standard, and how do you justify its authority in a framework where morality is grounded in society adapting to the times?
I don't feel the need to address the appeal to a higher power as you haven't addressed the issues I gave previously. Once you can square those circles, we can keep the conversation moving.

The recap:
- Appealing to a god doesn’t solve Euthyphro’s dilemma.
- It doesn’t fix the fact that Christians still can’t agree on what their god commands.
- And it doesn’t resolve the bible’s inconsistent treatment of human value across different passages.

Many apologists have tried, and none are convincing. It hasn't been done in over 2,000 years, and I don't expect it to be solved on an emulation message board.
