I did edit the batch file as suggested.

ModMii Classic does not start at all, while ModMiiSkin gives me "Some downloads are invalid, Missing.....".
I don't see any entries in my proxy log for downloading files, but I see the version test of ModMii. So it should use my proxy to connect to the internet.
I confirm, i got the same results.

I'm using 64bit windows 7.

I think u may have typed that before seeing my last post

Edit:

While it succeeded to download nuitka, it failed for its dependencies. Retried it serveral times. I'm out of ideas.
From NinjaCheetah:
I would try again but don't bother installing Nuitka
All of the other depdendencies are required, but Nuitka is only needed to build the executable and isn't needed if you run the Python file with the interpreter

Are u running 32bit windows? If so, try running modmii.bat directly, it should automatically replace modmii.exe with a 32bit compatible version

Edit: and skin has no chance of working (even if it loads) if classic doesn't work
No, its 64bit win7.

no idea what's going on, following video guides .... but it's not giving me any option to pick the exploit or enter mac address.

1) Lauch ModMii 8.0 (skin) [as admin]
2) pick Wii
3) No (not first time - want to wipe out and re do it - as its 10+ yrs old)
4) 4.1
5) 4.1U
6) 4.1 System Menu Selection

Now it just jumps to What Channels I want to install, Then which updates I want to do, then where to save to SD Card.

I've tried Yes and No for "first time modding" and it makes no difference. Never given exploit option.

Because you entered 4.1 you aren't prompted for what exploit to use. Your guide will by default use bannerbomb v1 since it's easiest to use in your case, but the guide will still include 2 alternatives (str2hax which requires internet on the console, and wilbrand that requires u input your Mac address). Basically modmii is saving you steps, u don't need to choose what exploit or enter a Mac address.

Just follow the prompts and follow the guide, the end result will be the same regardless of what exploit u use. If u use bannerbomb or letterbomb or str2hax or whatever, they all do the same thing, which is launch an app or tool (typically the hackmii installer)

TLDR: don't follow video guides, follow modmii or wii.hacks.guide

appreciate the quick reply. i just deleted the entire card, and started from the beginning and it worked this time. Thanks!

Can u try running modmii.bat anyway?

The batch requires a confirmation input by the user because of old Windows version. After that and many more lines it fails with

wiipy.exe_error.png

And yes, I edited the line set "WiiPy=...." according to my installation of python and the absolute path to WinPy.exe.

Hi @XFlak,

replacing ModMii.exe with "this one", which identifies itself as 0.0.0, does not fix the WiiPy error. If finally asks me to upgrade to 7.0.3 version. Replacing ModMii.exe with the one from 7.0.3 does not fix the WiiPy error and also asks me to upgrade to 7.0.3.

Now I am confused. Am I doing something wrong? What improvements would you have expected during the run?

The original modmii.exe wouldn't open modmii classic at all for you right? And the other 2 alternatives at least allowed u to run modmii.exe instead of being forced to use modmii.bat, is that correct?

Please confirm the above for me, then we can investigate getting WiiPy to work on older versions of Windows by trying this on top of the other changes we discussed

Edit: later on I'll remove the prompt to install 7.0.3 during update checks if you're already on a higher version of modmii even if u got an old version of Windows

A shame downloads don't work on Wine. It is possible to enable Wine to connect to the Internet,

Some programs need the winbind program to connect online in WINE, has anyone tried with that enabled/installed?

Last edited by raxadian,
I am terrible at Wine, I mostly use PlayOnLinux scripts for it. I don't even know how to enable CD-Rom or usb stick access unless the script does it for me.

That being said test if your Wine install has Internet Access use the Included Internet Explorer and test things with this website:

http://frogfind.de/

To see if you have Internet enabled or not.

Or even better try with a portable version of Firefox for Windows as Internet Explorer is usafe as heck.

If you are not online on Wine, make sure the Linux package winbind is installed in whatever Linux distribution you are using.

Also there is usually problems with the versions of Wine included in Ubuntu and Linux distros based on Ubuntu when it comes to getting online.

Get a "stable" version for WineHQ stable if that's the case.

https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/wikis/Debian-Ubuntu

By following the instructions in that Link.

If everything works fine you should have Internet access with Wine.

If you or anyone is able to figure out a wine solution I'll support however I can to make it easier to work in wine out of the box
Ideally, ModMii would be platform-independent, i.e. completely written in Python. I'll dream on then....

As I already mentioned the Wine versions included by default in Linux distributions are crap, get a "stable" version for WineHQ stable.

https://gitlab.winehq.org/

Also make sure the Linux package winbind is installed in whatever Linux distribution you are using.

Then test if you have Internet in wine by using the included Internet Explorer version with
http://www.frogfind.com/ (Changed the link for a working one)

If you have Internet on Wine then you can test ModMii in Wine.

Wine is giving me a lot of trouble with my video card and many things don't work otherwise I would be testing things myself.

At the moment I am saving to get an external HD so I can do a backup and install a different Linux Distro that is supposed to be more compatible with my old video card.

Please update d2x v11 beta 3.
Thank you
I plan to. Blackb0x actually gave me an early warning about it, but it was midnight for me and I was too tired to do it right then, and this morning I got a baptism to attend so it will have to wait until later. I'll get to it asap though so the total wait shouldn't be more than 24 hours since blackb0x released v11 beta 3.
Post automatically merged:

d2x v11 beta 3 now available in ModMii, enjoy!

edit: Also an updated test version of usbloader GX is available in modmii now too!

Thank you very much
But I can't choose v11 beta 3. When I selected 12 = d2x-v11-beta3,
then it become d2x-v11-beta3-FM051.
What is FM051 ? What does it mean ?
Best Regards

PS: I used modmii 7.0.3
