Founded in 2000, the company was merged with Slitherine Software UK Limited in 2010, creating the new Slitherine ltd company.
Both Slitherine and Matrix Games continue to operate as publishing brands, as part of the Slitherine Group, along with Ageod which was also merged into the company near the end of 2012.
