School Bomb Threat

So I was evacuated from school at 11AM and our band class was told to go across the street into a small local shopping center and call our parents to go home. School is not longer in session for the rest of the day. I waited in the parking lot with friends for about 20 minutes and eventually the entire school was there and traffic was hectic. My mom came eventually and took my girlfriend and I home to my house. We hung out, were on Facebook trying to find out what happened. Eventually our school released this message on our website:

Announcement for Wednesday, April 20, 201

Late this morning, a recorded warning of a bomb threat was discovered on the school attendance line. Although there is no evidence at this time that the threat is credible, the school administration chose to err on the side of safety for both students and staff.

Accordingly, the decision was made to evacuate the school so that the San Jose Police Department could conduct a thorough search. The evacuation took place at 10:50 A.M., and students were led to the shopping centers across Meridian Avenue from the school for parent pick-up, or to walk home. Students who were transported to school by bus were transported from school by bus. All students and staff are to evacuate school grounds for the balance of the day. Sports practices were cancelled for today.

School will be in session tomorrow, Thursday April 21st, for a regular school day.

Not a coincidence that's its on the anniversary of Columbine, lol.

Makes me wish I had a police scanner app on my iPod so i could hear whats goin' on. Don't know if those work, but its worth a try. I have a friend who volunteers with the local police department who knows all of the police codes and what not as well.

We get one of those every 3 months in public schools in my country, you get used to it.

My school decided to be a bunch of retards and do a lock down drill today. Like the drill for when there's a shooter in the school. GREAT CALL.

Some kids could really just call in bomb threats to be mischievous or even to just skip a day of school. I think there was one at my school a few years go, when my brother went there.

Lock Down? Like they lock you in the school? With the shooter?

That sounds incredibly retarded

Doesn't this happen almost daily here in the US? Kids call in bomb threats to get out of school. Happens all the time.

Exactly what I thought. They basically lock us in the rooms, cover up all the windows, turn off the lights, and make us huddle in some corner or something. Honestly, if there was a shooter in my school, I would not be sticking to these fucking lock down drills. I'd just hop out a window and walk to my house or something.

God forbid they get into the room and just shoot us all huddled in a corner.

Last year we had a lock down. After a while they let us know it was all clear. Turned out to be an ROTC student with a fake rifle (for customs).

Just make sure you're the first one in the corner and hope for full attendance ;)

that sounds... really retarded! something like:

Oh! Shooter Day! Lets hangout on a corner and wait to get killed! i'd just run for my life away from that place, break a window, jump and run....

That happened at my primary school once, during the winter standing outside in the cold for god knows how long while the school got searched, if that happened at my secondary however, I'd be jumping for joy even if there was the cold.
1. Call in bomb threat from an anonymous line
2. Wait for school to let out
3. ???
4. Profit!
In my highschool career, about 20 people did that.

Those 20 people were all found and charged quite heavily for it. There's always a very good chance of being found out, no matter where you call from. Unless you're like...in the US calling in bomb threats to China or something.

Happened to me 3 times in the same year in my middle school.

I'm sure the 13 year old got his ass served.

I don't know why, but I always think of Beavis and Butthead whenever I hear about a school bomb threat.

How do they find you if you call from a payphone were there are no cameras?

eh we have those too .
lockdowns , what is the point ? to be huddled in a corner , what good will it make ? it's like setting up a hostage system just for the shooters / intruders .

Had about 6 bomb threats this year, [in one year]! All of them written on the wall in bathrooms [girls and boys]. Latest rule my school put out to stop it- no one can go to the bathroom during classes anymore  ... yeah like that's going to stop anything. The best way that's stopping it is the $5,000 reward from crimestoppers for tipping them. :creep:

Simple. It's near impossible to find a payphone not near cameras.
Even if they're not obvious, cameras are EVERYWHERE. Especially around payphones, you're guaranteed to be caught on camera.

Your best bet for surviving a bomb threat is stealing someones cellphone and hiding an an alley or something...but even then I don't know the extent of how well phonecalls can be traced, especially from cellphones...they might have GPS coords and still get ya on camera, lol.

Actually, your best bet would be to purchase a cheap prepaid cell phone.
