Inspiration for a Novel

I've always been fascinated by literature. I've been told I have a knack for poems and short stories. Then, I got a sudden jolt of inspiration to work on a much longer story. A book. I then whipped up a quick storyboard for the first chapter on my notepad. Here's the storyboard for the first chapter:

- Christopher (nicknamed Chris) graduates from High School with his girlfriend Elise. (set in New York, I think)
- Christopher seems set on a good future with a good college and job with Elise.
- Elise mysteriously "disappears".
- Chris get's dazed by the surprising news.
- Chris goes out into Central Park, where he comes across a strange man, wearing a mask colored in white.
- Chris picks up a stick to defend himself.
- The man tells Chris that he can still bring Elise back, and that she's still alive.
- The man disappears into the shadows.
- Chris screams into the sky, "What am I supposed to do?"
- The stick he's holding turns into a sword, engraved with the words "The truth is the most powerful weapon of all".
- A spiraling pool of light appears on the ground.

Working on the storyboard for chapter two. Sometime in the future, I may be able to finish this. I wish I could.

Aye :( I love writing creatively but I hate actually doing it.

There's been things floating around in my head for a while now for a short story - I know exactly what emotions I want to convey, and the rate at which the story progresses, even a few literary techniques that would really make the story fun to read, but I have so much trouble with storyboarding and character creation.

Sounds like you've got more than 1 chapter's worth there. Most of the first few chapters should be padded out with getting to know the characters, etc.
