Everyone get's weirdly hostile about strange things.

So I wanna update to the newest firmware.
So what? Why is everyone dead-set on telling me that 'I'm wrong because X and Y" ?
I never said anyone else had to update...

While "your device, your choice" does extend to that we have rarely, if ever, seen anybody come back in 9 months while everybody else is playing with all the hacks, downloaded games, homebrew and whatever else and say "I am so glad I updated/went legit".

I get what you're saying, it just don't understand why people have to get hostile about it. I only got my switch last year, so I was already beyond what people consider "The best firmware" For homebrew.
I dunno, Probably my OCD acting up that makes me update.

Hm, maybe it has to do with SX people being salty that they can't update to latest or something

Dude, I for example use SX and i give 3 forks to the new update till a game i want to play asks me for a higher fw. Why would anyone be salty about it?

just don't make a bit fuss about wanting to update. Guys who always say with every update "but I still want to play online, I am gonna update" or whatever are as annoying as the ones you mentioned.

I always find it hilarious when people moan about that so called shady team stealing code from the community while they sit at home using some other CFW to play their pirated games. They complain about stealing while basically stealing themselves :rofl2::rofl2:

I usually find updates and upgrades are the source of most dramas and traumas. To that end I avoid them until I have either vetted them to make sure they do what I want, or until I am forced to by circumstances. More often than not it is the latter.

Can't speak for everyone, but I've never played a pirated game. The idea of doing that makes me uncomfortable.

You don't have to pirate your games. Cheats, hacks, controller mods, bug fixes, tweaks and whatever else are all afforded you by having a hacked device.

Fair enough, but I've never added something to the game that I would normally have to pay for, nor do I play online using hacked games. So I don't think that I'm stealing money from anyone in my case. (I don't use controller mods or anything like that either. The extent I've used is a save editor.)

Maybe have a look at some of the hacks and cheats that are out there then. They can really spice up a dull game, or make one you have got bored of playable again.

I am not sure how we got to the other stuff.

You do you. There's no reason to care about what firmware you're on if everything you want to run is running.

The GBAtemp community has been shit for many years. This happens all the time, any time someone wants to do something other than the most mainstream hack out there, it causes them anger. I wish I could tell you why.
