Should I get a 3DS?

I've saved enough money to afford a 3DS and one game, which will most likely be Ocarina of Time 3DS, however, I am open to suggestions. Anyways, should I do it?

well the PS Vita will retail for the same price, though no real games have come to bear just yet for it, you may want to consider the Vita.

PSV doesn't look very appealing, in my opinion. Also, the dual analog sticks and length look like they'll make it difficult to put it in my pocket.

if i were you, wait for ps vita. or wait to see if nintendo reacts to sony vita and lower 3ds price significantly

then get a 3DS not many options are there, lmao. I personally would wait for PSV and see the lineup. By then they'll be a bunch of games for 3DS to select from and compare to PSV's lineup. Now if you enjoy Zelda/Nintendo's first party then getting the 3DS is logical.

Even without games, the 3DS can keep you entertained. It's definitely a great choice to get one. Even if you can't get Ocarina of Time 3D at the same time.

But that isn't the question. I'm just asking whether to buy a 3DS or use the money for something else non-gaming related.

that depends on what that something else is. If you like zelda alot and plan on investing time in it, then get the 3DS.

Well what do u want appeal or entertainment ?

Does the Vita even have good games lined up? (I haven't bothered looking)

The 3DS may not have games now, but at least it has a ton of good ones lined up. I doubt a price drop will happen any time soon, so you don't really have to feel the need to wait. Ocarina of Time is gonna be awesome.

Whether you're into the PSV or not, I would advise you to think twice about it.
The PSP was Sony's 1st portable and really an experiment in the handheld market.

Its been 6 long years and I'm sure Sony has learned from any mistakes they've made in the past and have perfected a High Definition portable gaming system.

I expect the PSV to make the same impact Sony's 2nd console and Microsoft's 2nd consoles had. For some reason their 2nd shot always outshines their 1st.

These days you have to think as gaming devices as more than just gaming devices. And Nintendo really knows how to make their fans happy with software. Me+many others are rarely ever satisfied with Nintendo's hardware and features. There were many times on my NDS where I though "I wish I could do so-and-so" only to find out that the PSP could.

And I see the same pattern with the 3DS. Already the 3DS is going to lack Flash support which is a huge turnoff for me.

Now that handhelds are more like modern consoles than ever before, its becoming harder to predict who will have better or more numerous games. The PSP had only like 80 good games while the DS had 400 good games. I'm just hard to find that same library game for the new 3DS and PSV.

Though it should be noted that Super Mario 3D will be funner than Uncharted. Uncharted games are generally awesome but short. Mario games are imaginative and long. Nintendo's 1st party games will blow Sony's 1st party out of the water, but 3rd party... Who's to say?

At heart I'm a Nintendo fan boy/girl, but once you've logically weighed 3DS against PSV, its hard not to find the PSV to be a beautiful piece of work. Lucky for me, I'm not a kid with a $5 allowance so I'll have both.

And if you're curious about 3DS's 3D... Its more concave like a fish aquarium, its not eye popping like a movie theater 3D video.

An Uncharted, yet another Wipeout, a Killzone, Probably Bioshock, probably another gay Lego game, should probably expect a Ridge Racer, LittleBig Planet, a few new titles that arent sequels or ports to anything.

Its really not a strong lineup sofar, but then again neither was 3DS'

However before Vita is out, TGS11 will show in October and we'll get more titles to look forward to then.

Honestly, the current list of PS Vita games doesn't impress. Though to be honest, there's nothing for the 3DS for me that's currently out. But some of the trailers for new stuff? Look at them, then decide.

Whether you get one or not should be up to this question: "Are there games you want to play for that system?"

Seeing Super Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Kart 3DS finally gives me a reason to say "yes". Maybe it will for you too. Then again, maybe it won't.
Get a 3DS, Legend of Zelda will be legendary.
Get a 3DS, Super Mario 3D will be super good.

I'd say, get a 3DS if you're really keen.

The 3DS is currently lacking games, but later on there are many which will entice. Mario kart, Super Mario, Paper Mario and all other expected first-parties are expected to land 'Holiday 2011'.

The PSV has great games too, but many are similar titles to their PS3 counterparts; such as Uncharted, Wipeout (may seem like a port even! but no evidence), LittleBigPlanet etc.

So if you have a PS3, I suggest trying the 3DS. The 3DS overall isn't that bad. The 3D is aquarium-like, like what the previous posters stated; but the pop-out 3D is there as well... Try it with AR Games. :)

Or if you fancy PS3 similar games on a handheld, get a PSV. The graphics are good and has various control options. Overall, both are good.

Nintendo 3DS- 250$
PS Vita - 249$

As far as I see the PS Vita has alot of content in it, and its almost as powerful as a PS3.
It clearly has a big future, and will have alot of great games.
So I would recommend the PS Vita.
