Iwata himself said it was coming in June.

I could get it at 9am at the best buy I put a deposit for. But on the 27th I got work from 5:30am-1:30pm Ill try to leave early around 12, so I can go get the 3ds, bring it home. Do the unboxing vid and review vid and put it here on gbatemp and on my youtube channel

Also, Nintendo doesn't usually update the first version of their handhelds in a year, maybe 2 years. Also, even so, you can say that every year and never get it.
