Technical Difficulties

So today I was gonna check my gbatemp on my PC n stuff, but then I noticed chrome wouldn't start. I opened task manager, and it seemed like chrome was trying to start but something else was stopping it from being able to do anything but crash/close immediately after starting. So I went to C:\Program Files\Google, and noticed that only chrome dev was there. For the lulz I opened chrome dev and apparently it worked just fine despite having the same process name? either way turns out this whole time I've been running the 32 bit version of chrome... my guess as to why that is, is that maybe back when I first got this PC to work (it used to be my moms until it "broke"; apparently all it really needed was a password reset CD) and my dumb ass thought "why waste time downloading the chrome installer when I can just copy it from my laptop to this computer". For context, my laptop (still have it to this very day infact!) is 32bit. Anyway, after I went to C:\Program Files(x86)\Google\Chrome, I noticed that there was also a "chrome_new" executable. I ran that and it opened just fine, but then the old chrome.exe seems to have disappeared? Also chrome kept disabling uBlock Origin... turns out somehow it got corrupted. Fixed that, now we're here. Weird day so far.

It's funny how outdated 32 bit is now.

In my forever-stuck-in-past mind 8/16 bit is still normal and 32 bit is next gen.

Aside from apple and myabe win11, I can't imagine a x64 machine not being able to also do x86... (32bit)
Kinda stupid that you need to use an x86 processor to run 16-bit stuff natively.
