33 death in Province of Quebec

All due to the heat wave, luckily, it should ends today :)
It started last Saturday iirc

35C (45C with Humidex)

Right now we have 33c and 38c of humidex I suppose, pretty cool over there though, the main problem is the adaptation to warmer temperatures in regions colder on average, I don't remember hearing deaths by heat waves, even the average temperatures are of 32c the majority of the year

Here in Quebec, heat waves usually occur around late july-august
this one was heavy and early
but yea, we always get death due to heat wave, every year
But I must admit, 33 deaths was a lot for a single heat wave

BTW, after every heat wave, there is a storm
Lot of rain, lot of fresh wind
And the storm is about to begin... as in right now
the fresh wind is already here
expecting rain in like 30-45 mins

Yeah I live in manitoba and work in Saskatchewan and Ontario the heat has been brutal this year and I work outside usually cutting steel or grinding welds ranging from a couple hundred c to a a couple thousand c for some reason people out here need to be reminded that it's hot outside it happens every year the PSAs start on the news and the busy parks normally get volunteers out there handing out bottled water

I spent almost whole of my life without air conditioning, damn, people there should learn how to use properly wet towel or cool water shower which are one of most efficient way to stay cool. Even my store sells fans i have barely used one, summer isn't that hot here in pizzalandia :)

@leon315 actually, cold shower is a bad idea
Your body will try to warm up, so when you get out of the bathroom, it will be hotter ;)

nha, cool shower at morning and evening, it will lower ur heat and drink a lot of water. i don't think all people of Quebec died from high temp, i think many of them probably forgot to drink more water and ended dehydrated.

it will cool down your body temp, but your body wont like it and will try to warm up

The heat wave finally ended tonight

According to news, last time we had a 7 days heat wave was back in 1970

I MIGHT open a shop there and sell fans, it could work.

too bad, the heat is already over... IF I COULD open my fanshop a little earlier, i could save those poor souls :(

there are some very simple solutions to stay cool: get either a fan, an inflatable pool, travel to another city, or stay at local Mall lol and get a fresh drink, i think all those people who dies aren't very smart, NO offence ofc
