Today is the one of many times my dad comes to me discussing video game consoles and the prices. He saw the prices of Xbox one s and complains about the price being $400. This is one of many excuses why he comes to me to talk about the same thing we discussed at least 10 times already within a month.
His arguement is always the same for obvious reasons. But talking to me about it isn't gonna change my opinion and it won't change his. The truth is not talking to discuss decisions made by the gaming industry, but more of a demand in his own way that he wants to pay less for a console instead of what the Market retail price. To mostly anyone, sure that would be good for us, but not fot people providing the stuff. Is always a argument and it always ends the same way. He wants price drop of a ps4 cause he doesn't have money to pay full price for it. Of course just cause someone wants that doesn't mean it works that way.
If i have to endure more torture with the same unnecessary debate again, i'm not gonna be happy. He says that all people should stop buying consoles until the prices drop. Of course that would happen if people did that. But it would be majority of people who have to trigger that. If he doesn't wanna pay $300 or whatever the price is for a ps4 then don't do it. Wait for a.... ps5 to release in 4 years then buy a ps4 at less than $200 and play all the outdated games. I don't care, just stop talking to me about it, i'm not gonna change my opinion on how business practice is. Yes sometimes is unfair but is how it is sometimes. If Him or I was in business, you wouldn't complain about charging people for the prices of things cause you could be greedy like some people are. We are consumers and i understand fustration of not getting great deals on products, but understanding how business is done he would get his answers instead of asking me 10 times the same thing with no change in result only to reject my idea with negative comments.
You don't like my opinion, ask someone else, go do some research, come back to me when you want to discuss things on mutual level of even grounds, not behave as if you can't respect people opinions or understand what other people are doing to provide things you want. Go into business yourself and try to pay $40,000 to make about $200 next gen console and sell it for $250 or whatever and see if you would have enough to make more or even profit from it with that decision. There is a whole world with people who has different opinions and pratices.
If people are still buying consoles or games for the $400 they set the price at, there is no reason to change that until is stops selling and you want to get more buyers then reduce prices. I learned about supply & demand. I bought games for super cheap cause of supply and demand. Also there is no reason to complain about DLC. Is true that dlc is a new dynamic to gaming stanards now and days, But not all dls is purposely excluded content from the whole game, some is made as after thought to a game or cause people want more out of the games. Some is scumbaggery but not all dlc is that way. If he thought about it thisway, without dlc, the games we purchase would have Every single piece of content in it, it would cost more, or we would have to pay to own expansion of a game we already had, Street fighter game series already part of that with is many SF2 and SF3 and SF4 games. DLC is a option, and is made by developers not requirement by consumers. Don't like it, don't bother with it.
I just don't like his unreasonable complaints, especially when asking me for opinions and disregarding it cause is not what he wanted to hear. Ask someone else, he asking the wrong person. I don't always disagree with him but he need to stop asking questions in very specific ways, as if leading me to say things he wanted to hear and taking it out of context to build the puzzle of what he wanted. I'm not that person.
