the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

Ptrk25, which build did you used (maybe give the link?) and what entrypoint? Also, could you provide a System Settings screen?

Ptrk25 and what was your method of getting the entire thing to work?

First I copied the right cia files to "/updates".
Than I used oot3dhax to get into the homebrew launcher and launch the app.

Than the sys updater will appear and i pressed y to downgrade.

Welp I got a brick on O3DS 9.9.0-26E
Will restore and try on a different entrypoint.
I was using ironhax and I get into sysupdater consistently on all entrypoints I have tried.

Did it, but I'M STILL GETTING THE CIA FILE INFO ERROR!!!

Voxel, did you make sure you're using the n3ds upgrade files, and not the o3ds ones?

FINALLY! I GOT IT WORKING!
@Voxel Studios do you use the mashers HBL? It seems to prevent it from working. When I switched to the "original" boot.3dsx it worked the first time.

Managed to initiate the downgrade with the pre banana build Ptrk suggested.

Bricked at the same cia with the same results. I think there really is something wrong with this section of the code?

@Voxel Studios I would double-extra-triple check to make sure the hardmod is attached, maybe it is not being detected?

@Voxel Studios did you run memchunkhax and get deadcafe before you used sysupadater. I ask because i am about to do it

I'm not using any hardmod. Tree life chose me! :cool:
