My PC is, uh, running a teensy weensy bit HOT!

80 deg Celcius plus for a CPU? REALLY?

So I returned my stupid non-bombastic ATi GPU for a Galaxy Geforce GT 430 (number coincides with case number), and ordered a case fan + a CPU cooler.

What kind of PC did you build?

With intel, they say that it's fine if it's under 100 deg Celcius i believe (i5 and i7)

are you sure you have placed a cpu cooler in that case ( yea a pun :D)
now serious, have you applied thermal paste?

A new CPU cooler is coming in the mail soon.

BTW, this is the PC I built.

My fan kept kicking into "vibrate the desk" mode during everyday use, did some poking around and discovered I had a nasty infection of Sirefef. Never even noticed it had disabled my Antivirus, and I am careful to never get a virus. Took me a solid 24 hours to fully get rid of it, and I'm still a little concerned that I missed something (nothing's happened, but just gun shy)

Next time I boot up LA Noire, I'll take note of what my CPU and GPU hit, but I know that I cannot have my laptop in my lap while playing Minecraft or any AAA 3D title. (Minecraft is just terrible programming, that's the only reason I can come up with for why it gets SO HOT.)

Also, my comp used to freeze all the time for no apparent reason, but when I got a laptop cooler, that stopped. Funny how that works.
my cpu runs at 10 deg c idle and about 25-30 deg c when playing high end games. that's the power of the corsair hydro 100 and Phantom - NZXT
No way! But...I'm kinda on a budget for my homebrewed PC (built it myself)
