I have a heavily damaged V1 Switch. The console cannot read physical games, can't be played for more than 15 minutes without overheating, and it no longer has a right joycon rail, as it broke off the console. The shell is beaten and busted, too.
I plan on repairing it, though. Even if I already have a fully functioning Switch lite, I still want to play my games on my TV. I can also mod the currently broken V1 Switch in the near future, as it isn't patched.
EDIT ON 2024/9/10: I threw it away because I can't fix it. I ended up convincing my mom to get me a V1 Switch off ebay for my birthday instead.
The seller is well respected, and the console was for a good price for it's condition.
It'll arrive soon, and I'll probably make a follow up post talking about it...
EDIT ON 2025/4/28: I got my V1 Switch on my 18th birthday, I've had a lot of fun with it, but I'm gonna trade in both my Switch Lite and said V1 Switch towards getting a Switch 2. It's been fun using it with stuff like Android and Linux, but if I'm honest, I'm extremely interested in what the future holds with the Switch 2.
EDIT ON 2025/6/5: Switch 2 isn't worth it, I'm sticking to my V1 Switch.
