YO! I have the same issue, just updated to 1.2.1 and installed DLC Wave 2 as well and got a black screen!

Personally I haven't installed the latest update yet, so I am curious if this issue is isolated to mod compatibility as usual.

That is correct. Tried disabling all mods but still got a black screen. I was able to boot the game disabling the latest update since my game NSP is version 1.1, however the DLC wave 2 crashes the game when I try to activate it, probably because the latest update is missing.
Maybe the 1.2.1 update that I downloaded is corrupt or something like that.
Any advise? I downloaded the main game from FitGirl repacks site which included the game NSP updated as I mentioned with some mods, same that I disabled when I was testing the update 1.2.1

Hey guys, update: I resolved the black screen crash by downloading a NON previously updated game NSP file. My original game NSP was downloaded from FITGIRL and it included update 1.1.0
So downloading a 1.0 NSP + updating to 1.2.1 + DLC and all set!
I just need to update now the cheatsx for 4K resolution and 60FPS

Use build 2888 with Vulkan and mods. In 3060, remove cache and run on OpenGl, but I don't know why there are several graphical issues, but if you haven't passed chapter 3 yet, that's the only way to play on Pentelas region; on 2888, I don't know the hell why, the emulator crashes. After that, use 2888 with Vulkan and that will be fine. Also, put internal resolution on 0.75 or 0.5 and use 2k mod to upscale. On default 1.0 resolution, the emulator often crashes.
Edit: tried 2889 just right now, and it runs smooth on both APIs. But in Vulkan is smoother. If you had past Pentelas region, enjoy.
