If I remember correctly, this method really doesn't serve the battery life well...

QUOTEThe battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery.

Looks like I did remember correctly xD.

is lag while saving dont allow you play game? i dont' think so.

Well, sometimes just seconds after it finishes saving and goes back to the song select menu, it powers off because it needs a charge.

I call that very dangerous. Usually I don't notice it needs charging because I've decided to just run the charge out if the light turns red, and go charge it afterwards.

does a retail rom drain the power of your nds?
do other flash kits drain the power of your nds?
does the r4 1.18 official firmware drain the power of your nds?

your issues reads as if your nds is having the problem. i have not experienced any power drain that causes me to recharge my ds after a save. perhaps you need to replace your battery. it is known that saving, wifi, flash kits in general, will use more battery than normal operations. depending on the age of your nds, i would assume that you need to buy a new battery. if this was a problem, with saving killing the battery, you would have heard about it by now. this can not be firmware related, as in the firmware is not killing your battery.

That`s strange, since I own 2 DSes lite, and since WOOD R4 at least`s on brightness 2, battery life now has been reduced 1 hour or so compared to R4`s main firmware, i can really object that as both DS are relatively new and gameplay with carts `d last at least for 7~8 hours on the mentioned brightness.

However nothing to regret anyway, WOOD R4 has everything i ever wanted, thanks a lot ; )

Wii connection and so.

it takes more battery life to emulate ds games, and since your brightness is at 2, then your DS would be losing battery life faster

to load games?

Let me put it this way...
If it takes a flashcart with onboard CPUs (i.e. iPlayer and SuperCard Two) to emulate GBA games... there's no way that a flashcart without onboard CPU's (i.e. everything else) can emulate a more advanced system.
If I'm not mistaken, the flashcart reads the "ROM" (misnomer, a retail cart is a ROM or Read Only Memory, the file you can download is a ROM Dump) file from the flashcart in a way that lets the NDS see it as a retail cart. This would be more Simulation, not Emulation.

Flashcarts aren't emulating DS games but they are emulating DS cartridges.

The flashcart is presenting a game on the MicroSD card to the DS as if it were an actual retail cartridge. To me that's still emulation.

I don't know if this is a glitch or an intended function, but if you copy Slot2 Card to your favourites, it'll automatically boot GBA games when you navigate to your favourites folder, or press X.

Some people may even find that useful.

Game name: Jam with the Band
Release number: 4900
CRC: I don't know what that is.
Clean ROM: YES
What the bug is: Pause Screen freezes and menu disappears, Closing DS overclocks the game (causing the light to blink fast). (both bugs relate to eachother, hence why they're in the same report)
What you did to debug it: I don't know how to debug things.
How you can repeat the bug: Go to a custom song (like a song you put in with the Degausser or something), pause the game, close the DS, and if the power light blinks like the game is overclocked, open the DS again and wait a moment and all the menu items will disappear (as if you unpaused) save for your little selection box that tells you what you're selecting, and the game will be frozen.
Etc: I haven't been able to repeat this bug since. Possibly a one time thing.
Etc: This is WITHOUT CHEATS ACTIVATED.

I know this isn't a DS game, but I wanted to check it out and then......
Game name: Pokemon ShinyGold
Release number: XXXX
CRC: I don't know what that is
Clean ROM: NO (Hack)
What the bug is: Game doesn't start (freezes on Game Boy Advance logo that's missing © Nintendo)
What you did to debug it: I don't know how to debug things.
How you can repeat the bug: Try to start the game.
Etc: This is a hack of a GBA game.... Maybe Wood R4 just doesn't run hacked games.

@BigOnYa, and since the default emulator is below average i downloaded some "replacements" like snes9x for snes games for example
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
And I also have my ps3
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea ps3 is a beast still to today compared to most "sticks"
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you just want pi for emulation no point when Anbernic releases new shit every two seconds
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.
    +1
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    ack my throat
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I need to invest in some storage totes tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tots?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tootles? Wtf
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Oh tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh totes , lol, like Tupperware storage, I gotcha
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man hole, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it
BigOnYa @ BigOnYa: But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never...
