Hardware Will the SD be formatted in FAT32 or in a custom format?

Considering they are doing their own SD cards for the Switch , that could be as a hint that it might use a custom format.

Hopefully , it wont . Nintendo's custom formats are annoying

seems likely they would use an existing standard because the user needs some way of upgrading to a larger card.
wii u gets around this by allowing 2 usb drives

Free and open format, less prone to errors, normal people don't understand how to use it in a computer and it can support really big sizes.

yea, but it is not part of the SDHC or SDXC specs. this means that the Switch cannot claim SDHC or SDXC compatibility if it uses any other filesystem then what the specs call for. (FAT32 for SDHC and exFAT for SDXC)

hmm yes, exFAT is most likely what they will use. After all, that's what recommended for SDXC.
